And then turns right back around. That was, by the way, the biggest intraday points plunge ever.
Edit: Wow. Reports are coming in that it was all caused by a trading error when someone meant to sell x "million" of Procter & Gamble and accidentally placed an order to sell x "billion."

10/10/2008, big fella.
Jesus. I hope you do more research in your real job, Captain Malpractice.
do u rally think this was just a typo?
Hey, we don't need the gub'mint regulating Wall Street, no sir, just 'cause one trader hit the "b" instead of the "m" button and sent the financial world into meltdown. This was probably an Act of God.

Might want to take a look at the markets in the rest of the world before blaming it on a trading error. A hard rain is going to fall. It is going to get real stressful when we can't pay Obama's debt to China. Glad my home is paid for, I have a garden, a lake with fish in it, and a wood burning stove.
I would say something about Obammy's economic recovery that we all hear about but if it weren't so sad it would be hilarious.
Obamanomics at its worst.
That was a huge 15 minutes of panic. Totally amazing to watch the numbers sink while it was happening. I was shaking.
I walked out of my office to get a breather from the panic and walked back in 15 minutes later and it was back up 700 points...totally unbelievable.
what a total freak out
I just kept strumming my banjo.
IDIOTS-
How many times have you see where you spell out a number instead of typing in the digits?
Never!
Dress rehearsal?
The trading error rumor was probably started to stop the panic sell off.
