I'm still trying to figure out what agency this is. It looks kind of like a DPS Trooper from the uniform (you can see it after the 10:00 mark) and the computer terminal, but that beat up cowboy hat isn't standard trooper wear. The guy in the car is "Pastor Steve Anderson."
Stopped for running 72 in a 70. And then it turns into an inquiry about WMDs. And then it turns into a political discussion instead of a traffic stop.
From May 4. 2010.

I was on his side for a few minutes there, but then he just went to Crazy Town and I had to stop watching.
He owned that Pig, though. LMAO.
That little SOB went to far!! I would have shut his pie hole along time before he even got started on HIS RIGHTS!!!
This officer stood on the side of the road in traffic way to long debating with this moron. I felt like i was watching Keith Olberman debating Fox News.
And its B.S. getting pulled over for 72 in a 70.
Had to bring up the Nazi's...
Okay, check out Pastor Steve Anderson on the internet. The guy is missing a few screws and apparently, he does seem to be on some kind of government watch list, mainly because he comes across as a radical nutjob.
"A mass destruction bomb? We're in a Kia!" LOL... best line EVER!!
I don't think the deacons run his church...
Yeah that's the same guy that prayed for Obama to die! What a nut! It is LE's job to protect all citizens. I bet he's never been a victim of a crime or he would feel different!
The cop doesn't do anything to help the law enforcement profession but Pastor Steve is a bit nutty. A pastor needs to be worried about his church, not government conspiracies. I was about ready to pull him out of the car and beat him. Goofball.
Had to bring up the Nazi's...
1:01 PM
the Nazi's...what?
Nazis = the plural form of Nazi
Example: "Careful! The grammar Nazis are patrolling the 'net today."
Nazi's = something of, pertaining or belonging to a Nazi.
Example: "Wow! That grammar Nazi's comment really hit home."
And is that guy dumb enough to think that you can't get a "mass destruction bomb" into a vehicle the size of a Kia?
Plus, if you think the debate went on too long, maybe the trooper was hoping the guy would throw out just enough rope to hang himself with.
(Yeah, I ended with a dangling participle. Some concessions have to be made for a Texas grammar Nazi!)
I love when people exercise their rights, but this guy does get a little spun up.
Though I only made it to the 3:21 mark on the video, I give all manner of props to the Trooper. Had I been the Trooper, more than likely, my weapon would have malfunctioned and I would have shot the mouthy douche bag in the Kia. Good for the driver for exercising his rights but someone needs to teach him a few people skills.
What is going on at Fox 4?

My wife has a dangling participle, took her to the doc last week to see if it could be removed.
you can write that moron of a pastor at: info@faithfulwordbaptist.org
This happens everyday to people because they're not the right hue.
hahahaha, serves him right. He is from Arizona. They elected people who enacted the current profiling law. He deserves everything he gets. Its a civil rights issue because he is Mr. Pastor. Please.
The trooper had a look and sound of total defeat. It was as if he was thinking "Boy, I'd love to run this guy in just for GP, but I ain't got no evidence. Just a very defensive, mouthy conspiracy theorist. Dang it!"
Yes, that was a DPS Trooper. Pics of shoulder patches, badge, ID Plate are all visible after 11:00 mark.
(And I want those 13 mins of my life back.)
This all started because the trooper asked "Where y'all headed?"
I have been asked that several times by state troopers. Not a big deal. I can see why he has been beaten up and tasered.
Somehow, my first impression is that it's phaked. But, when I think again about how weird things are these days, I tell myself it must be true.
The Baptist church where this guy preaches, if he really is a Baptist preacher, is the only Baptist Church I might ever visit again in my lifetime.
Kudos to that trooper for not stooping to that guy's level, the situation could have easily escalated, but the trooper never changed his tone or raised his voice, the other guy, on the other hand was just trying to get under his skin, so that he could file another lawsuit like the one he was telling the story about...got beat up and tased for nothing at all...yeah, right, what a moron...
I don't understand you guys who always take the side of the police. Do you not think that there are cops out there who abuse their power? Do you not think that police corruption exists?
Always question authority.
How many of you have actually walked up to a strange car?
Get a reality check- this "so called" pastor had no touch of reality to his big speech at all! All he cared about was slamming the police and lecturing them.
Is it legal to video like that? Even when the cop asked him not to for his own safety. This guys are nut jobs- they belong to be put away!!
I'm pretty sure that po-leeese dipshiate is Junior's brother. Y'all know, Junior on Reno-911.....Gawd help us awl.
It is a sad day when people are defending a cop's abuse of powers. Sure he was mouthy, but I don't think he is a "conspiracy nut". When will you redneck sheeple wake up? This pastor was actually speaking the truth, even though he was ridiculed by a few posts...
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident. -Andre Gide
Pastor's should be peaceful people. At no point was the officer unreasonable. Good thing I am not a cop, I would have beat his ass then crushed the phones and there would be no recording. Some people just try to get you to beat them. The officer never searched the car or violated any privacy rights. He just asked the standard questions. Yes the Pastor did not have to answer them, but he was a jerk about it.
Dago.Sure you can vidio them .Your lawer mght like a copy. The police could of issued him a speeding ticket and lowered his own blood pressure some. The only proper answer to the question was; none of your ****ING business ,how are you today?I don't want to attend his church though.
Hahahaha! That trooper was not ready for that! I did think he was just talking to the pastor to get info.
A lesser cop would have drug him out of the car and tazed him.
He gives his name as Trooper "Hagler."
A Hagler works in Junction -- that's a lonely part of I-10.
I know this officer. He is a DPS Trooper out on I-40.
(And I want those 13 mins of my life back.)
You and me, Mike!
12:50 must be a cop. It's assholes like you that made this guy decide to start defending his rights in the first place. Who do you think you are and what gives you the right to shut someones "pie hole"???
That cop was just asking questions hoping their stories wouldn't match so he could say that was probable cause to search their car. Every one of them use the same tactic. Cops just hate that we have rights against their bully mentality.
I love it!
Rex and Susan would had tased him shot him and then tased him again..we are safe of WMD's in RAB...Bishop would have shot him
Rex and Susan are the best.
That "Pastor" is a real nut job. Check out youtube and you can find several videos of him and his rants (if you can stand to listen to them).
The Taser incident he talks about in this video was because he refused to open the doors to his car at a Border Patrol check point when they had probable cause to search it (Resisting Lawful Arrest or Detention).
The Baptist church he preaches at is one he founded. It is not affiliated with any other Baptist churches.
Reminds me of David Koresh or Jim Bakker.
Mz it was a Bit..Rex and Susan are great..they do a awesome job..I feel very safe in the Bay..
Was that trooper hallenbeck?
I think this trooper actually did a good job. A lot of people will ridicule him because of his drawl, but he did not prevent these people from recording the stop, he did not get angry when they asserted their rights. He wasn't "owned", he respected their rights to refuse a search or give information. He didn't even give them a speeding ticket out of spite. Try telling a cop in Boston or New York that it is none of their business what you are doing.
If you want to get outraged over police behavior, read Balko's blog. This trooper handled himself pretty well.
The officer allowed both of their lives to be at risk for the roughly 14 minutes that they were pulled over on the side of the highway. One sleepy truck driver...and all of them are dead.
If you tell an officer respectfully it is none of their business that should be it...
Try asking them a question like their name and see how the officers attitude is?
I was pulled over once for going 3 mph over and ask the officer his name while he was writing and he said what do you want to know for, with an attitude?
I responded you don't have a name tag on and most officers do?
They can dish it out but can't take it.
This officer was extremely nice!
