Lots of cops and emergency equipment on 51 near hospital in Decatur at construction site. Smell of natural gas all around.

It must be a different gas because I couldn't smell it but could hear it spewing. They haven't stopped traffic yet. Could it be the nitrogen in the undergound utilities?

Will it take 12 days for Obama to show up on this one?

Maybe it was an explosion over the Decatur School Board election ads in the WCMessenger!

Maybe one of those gigantic school board signs for RQ ruptured a gas main when they illegally staked it in the ground.

How can anyone in that part of town smell anything over the foul stench from the city sewage treatment plant?

They might be digging the grass for that new Turf field we get if yall vote for Jeff and Gary.
Vote NOOOO to them 2 or you will have a Turf Field and indoor Traning field within 2 years..

How about we vote for the two we think will be the best for our children, our teachers, and our administrators.

The two with children in the district.

The two who aren't mudslinging.

The two who seem to have printed honest advertisements in the local paper.....

What 2 would that be? They only ran due to the Turf deal was voted down. If things were so bad why wait so long to run sayin it's for the kids. I have some more swamp land they can buy for the next f-up deal

I wish Jerry Howard would man up and put his name on all these turf posts. - Fake Barry Green

so far i have seen no good from the school board for decatur isd they bulit a high school that had a cafeteria too small to feed all the students then in a recession they tried to get an indoor training facility and artifical turf in a bond vote for the kids not for the sports

Barry, if you write all of the random thoughts between 5 and 6, why don't they show up before 8?

Anonymous said...

Hey, you folks in Decatur think you have it bad? We'll swap "Nutjob" Lodes for any one of your four candidates! VOTE FOR LARRY NIVENS FOR ALVORD ISD SCHOOL BOARD!!!

Anonymous said...

Ok Morons...the TURF bond was voted down in a bond election.....sooooooo the board cannot come back in and override it without another bond election. Personally, I do not want folks with frozen taxes making decisions about my kids school system!

Anonymous said...

Sorry people, but a school with "Robin Hood" money to give away should have nicer athletic facilities!

Anonymous said...

This election is NOT about Turf! Our board sucks as it is right now, and when things suck....you change them!

Anonymous said...

I'm voting for the two with kids in school and spouses who are teachers! I love my parents, but that doesn't mean I would want them to run my children's school district in the retirement years!

Ask just about any teacher what they think of the new curriculum these two former educators voted into DISD-true educators do NOT believe in a one size fits all curriculum for their students. Find out how much of the taxpayers money was wasted on this curriculum. Have you tried to help your child with homework lately? They don't have books! Again, thanks to CSCOP. Stupidly, the teachers had to choose textbooks to adopt. Books they will not get to use. Just because they have been educators does not necessarily qualify them to make solid decisions especially when such decisions are clouded by their high opinions of themselves. We need a board that supports the district, teachers, administrators and STUDENTS; not a board that is split because two are trying to micromanage and rule the district. We need a superintendent who also has these things in mind with a board supporting him. The board is broke; we need to fix it.

Fact check:

Minutes will show C-Scope recommended by all, I repeat all, campus administrators, central office people including supt and approved 7-0 by the board.

Fact check:

Minutes will show All action on personnel for the last three years has be unanimous, 7-0

Fact check: The board is made up of three businessmen, two educators, a doctor, and a lawyer. The board is not made up of two educators and two educators do not constitute of majority.

Fact check: Minutes will show 98% of all votes taken by this diverse group has been 7-0. Minutes will also show that there is no decernible "block" voting when votes are not unanimous.

Just the facts.

Hmm....... This is a perfect example that proper school board behavior was followed when the board took the recommendation of the superintendant, curriculum director and ALL principals. They all signed off on and recommended CSCOPE to the board. This is exactly an example of the board NOT micromanaging!

Now Laura Montgomery has a letter in the Messenger as a concerned DISD Taxpayer we need Jeff and Gary so bad. Why was see not concerned when she was voting for the new school that was voted down 3 times and built anyway??? I think if it was so bad WHY did you not fix it you had TIME.
Bakker is such a tool he lives in Alvord OH i forgot he was one of the few pushing the TURF deal when it failed at the Voter box so now he is concerned too.

9:16 you are exactly right because the two that try to micromanage got their way!

Anonymous said...

7:55 - Get a life. They can FIND funds to go anything they want. Just because it was voted down does not mean that it won't happen.
Just ask taxpayers in any school district.

Jeff and Gary are not about turf. Get a new complaint.

Vote Matt Van Hoose for Bridgeport City Council! May 8th

Turf was only put on the bond to make the bond fail in order for the board to have a reason to fire Gindt. It was staged.

Anonymous said...

10:50 They never said they would vote NO to the deal!
I need to get my Wife or Sister working at the DISD so I can get on the school board.

Anonymous said...

I vote for whoever gets the big picture that we need to hire the best applicants as teachers and administrators. It is unethical to hire your daughter's best friend to be your sidekick.

Anonymous said...

10:50...So why are they running? So that the Rann principal can keep her job?

I agree with 10:14...if things have been so bad for such a long time, why haven't they run before?

Also, Gary Clayton is retiring in August, so how would this make him different from the other "retirees" on the board?

Anonymous said...

So you're all sitting here bad-mouthing Gary and Jeff for running for school board NOW instead of before. It looks to me like either of them will have children in the school system for at least two of their terms, if elected. How is that waiting UNTIL the NOW of which you speak?

How hypocritical can you be? We could say that about EVERY SINGLE person who EVER ran for SCHOOL BOARD, including Ruby and Jerry, now can't we?

In fact, unless you're a small handful of people (who have run for board in the past and failed), YOU TOO should be badmouthed for NOT running now!

Anonymous said...

I encourage ALL OF YOU to call a small handful of Decatur ISD employees and ask them who they plan to vote for. I doubt very seriously you'll find 1% who are in favor of the incumbents. At my campus alone, I have heard NOTHING positive of their stint as board members.

Anonymous said...

"Also, Gary Clayton is retiring in August, so how would this make him different from the other "retirees" on the board?"

REALLY?????????

Maybe it is different because he still has a child in school in the DISD. Duh!

Anonymous said...

I know a lot of DISD school employees who favor classroom over athletics and SUPPORT both INCUMBENTS!!!

Anonymous said...

Hey 9:57, I'm one of them!

Anonymous said...

Yeah, me too. I'm a DISD employee and I support Clayton and Elder!
