Since I don't drink and drive, it's total crap that I would have to pay for an alcohol sensor in my car. What's next, a cell phone scrambler because of all the dumb asses who talk without bluetooth and text while they try to drive?
I'm very conservative and believe it or not I agree with you , Green. It wouldn't affect me because I don't drink and drive, but I can see some real problems come out of this as well as big brother getting more into our lives unnecessarily.
Hide and watch, GM will upgrade ONSTAR to perform this function...for an added x number of dollars per month, and the good folks over @ Apple will team up with the folks that make the DS (it has as part of some games a place for you to blow into a hole on the side) to create "an app for that", and within a month, people will be paying for it...all because some insurance company somewhere is offering a sober driver discount.
Well, I have to say I am against it because I do drink and drive on occasion, and there is a difference between drunk driving and having a few drinks with friends at dinner and then driving home. A lot of folks do this, some responsibly, some not, but I would be willing to bet many will not admit they do it... Probably even the folks above who say "I never drink and drive". At least I am honest.
Sensors on the steering wheel and gear shifter, um wear gloves. Sensor on the headrest put a towel on it, the headrest not your head. Oh yeah and he might want to do a quick free Google search and see that Nissan developed these sensors in a prototype car in 2007.
I don't drink at all. I'll gladly pay a little extra for this on my car if it means other cars and trucks won't be out there with drunks behind the wheel. Like a lot of issues, this is one you don't appreciate until it's too late.
If there was a drunk pilot problem in this country, and every week a plane full of people went down killing all on board, you'd still have fewer people being killed than what actually occurs on our highways due to drunk driving each week. And yet there'd by a "cry from the land" to install and have us all pay for drunk pilot detectors.

Its stupid most of us do not drive and drink ,there is more people who don't drink at all !
Can they make a sensor for Mexican women drivers too? But they need to work like radar detectors, so we can see them coming ahead of time!

Intrusive.
Inherently unreliable.
Adds to the cost of the vehicle.
Something else to have to repair.
Plus everything 1104 said.

I'm all for it because it would force Skippy to find another line of work.

What about the "legal medical marahooche smokers"?Can we still drive? Before long the liberals will have "medical alchol"permits.DAGO
Why I can't believe nobody has used this line yet... Think of the children!
I have a feeling it will fail. Too much money will be lost by the state DWI revenue machine.
Rick Perry, the fake conservative, is prolly behind this socialist crap.
