287 Mess

I'm not sure what was going on today on 287, but it looked like some quick repaving (although it appeared to be more of a black seal.) They did one lane during the day but later they directed traffic over the newly "paved" section of the road while they finished the job. That created a mess. It looked like people were driving on ice since the traffic was so slow. And I can't imagine how much gooey black tar was thrown all over the vehicles.

Someone should be shot for thinking it was a good idea to spray hot tar on the entire road and make people drive through it. I was stuck in this mess about 3:45this afternoon. Makes me crazy. Idiocracy in full force,

the backup was at least 8 miles long, but whatever is going on, the messenger did not warn us as usual.

....and they want 75 cents for that?

When should they do repaving work? Midnight, 8am , Noon ? While your ass is in bed?

Maybe this should be a poll.

Probably the resident engineer again.

Doesn't that say it all?

Yeah, the hubby was stuck in it yesterday around 4:30. He called complaining about it. But if it has to be done, it has to be done. If it wasn't inconveniencing people then, it would be inconveniencing people at another time. Like it or not, it's part of driving unless you're driving strictly on roads that you manage yourself.

RPM, it can be done at night. There are these wonders of the 21st century called lights. If the road workers don't like working at night, then they can find another position.

You don't obstruct major thoroughfares at high demand times.

Was stuck in it for over 30 minutes just to go 9 miles. I didn't understand them doing that entire stretch at once. Seems they could have broken it up and let traffic move a little better.

I hope they aren't doing the southbound side today!

I drove on it last night and had no warning about it. Just looked like the road was wet. My truck is nasty with black goo on the tires & underneath. Good thing I was not in my white mustang!!!!
