He asked: Would you have shot this dog?
(And go visit crazy Denny to make me feel better about this grand blog theft.)

looks like a justified shoot to me. Dog was aggressive in approach and Deputy shot it as seen. What a waist of a lawsuit. Bruiser is now being replaced with a Rot and pitbull.
I love dogs, but have shot a few too, people who live in the country and let their dogs run free might as well shoot them themselves, between cars and neighbors thats where they all end up anyway. If you love your dog, lock them up, put them inside a fence, or leave them at the puppy mill where you found them.
From the video, it is difficult to tell if the dog was actually attacking. What made him think he was in such danger? Many dogs run up to someone but do not attack. It was not necessarily a vicious breed like a pit bull, etc. He was not responding to a call about a dog attack. He stopped to ask for directions. He was on their property unofficially and uninvited. I say it was poor judgement on his part.
On a lighter note, it remind me of the Reno 911 episode. If you are a fan of that show, you know the one I am talking about.
She was right the deputy was just showing off for the brother in law (whom I suspect is named Billy Bob or Jimmy Joe Jack or some such). Being it was his bro. in law he was basically saying,"This could be you punkinhead."
PS when someone says,"It's not about the money." It's about the money.
The dog looks to be an Airdale or part Airdale. They can be very aggressive and very territorial. They are used as kill dogs in lion hunting with dogs.
A sheriff asking for directions? Doesn't he have a radio that he could have asked his dispatcher? That's like a liberal weenie having to ask where the welfare line is.
2:37 - that was the first thing I thought too. there was an airdale in our neighborhood that used to tear our little Boston up all the time. that being said, it's still sad to see a dog die beacause of an irresponsible owner. also, the cop could have just jumped on his car, too, but I don't think she'll win this case. I don't think she should. and no, I would not have shot that dog. not without it biting me first.
The deputy is a desk jockey. He should get out on the street more. He should have displayed more courage. Someone shoots my dog, the least of their worries would be a law suit. Shameful.
And I go to Denney Crane's website from yours all the time. His website is a bit gritty, but probably a lot of fun for him to make. Fun with a warped sense of humor.
Apparently cops are now allowed to start blasting whenever they feel the slightest danger. If that's at you while you're in your house being served a no-knock warrant by a SWAT team that has the wrong address, or at the dog that's also in that house wondering why his owner is being manhandled by strangers, then it's your own damn fault for not training your dog to submit to someone with a badge.
5:09, Probably the same kind that keep loaded weapons in the house. If it were up to liberal weenies, guard dogs would probably be outlawed along with guns. Their retarded way of thinking is that if you are in trouble, call 911. That's real comforting knowing that while in response they have to stop and ask directions. I love the liberal weenie mindset.
To 2:37 You must do your lion hunting in the wee hours in the mornin after eating to much chile for supper.Airdales are very capable dogs, but the reason they are not used for hunting lions and bears are the same reason that one did't stop and bark at the policeman;their scales arn't adjusted right.Have hunted both for years and some of the oldest and best guides in the buisness are my good friends and they wouldnt' have an airdale in the yard. The policeman did the right thing, that dog won't run at anyone else.DAGO
8:53 I have hunted bears in Alaska but not with dogs. I have not hunted lions or bears with dogs but have always read Airdales were used as kill dogs. It seems you have the more reliable sources due to your actual experience doing it. Are you saying that the guides that you know do not use Airdales because the dog is too hard to control? Just curious.
I have been bitten by a dog on a call i had to go to. The dog appeared to be friendly. He approached wagging his tail with his tongue hanging out like he was all friendly. He calmly walked up, jumped up with his front paws on my chest like alot of friendly dogs do. He then bit my face. I dont blame the deputy for shooting him. But i do agree, he could have walked back to his car a little faster and got into it.
Dogs don't kill lions and bears ' they tree or bay them up so the hunter can photo them or choose to harvest them.It is a selective way to hunt and exciting way to hunt.Airdales were bred to bay up stags. Please don't anyone blog to tell me what your granpa/uncle did.DAGO
The cop started reaching for his sidearm BEFORE he started backing to his car. He had plenty of time to get back into his car before he was in danger. He made a choice to shot the dog not escape and that was clear by his posturing. If I had no other choice and was being attacked then i would shoot the dog but he clearly had options.
All of you who say "you would get back in the car" are full of it. That happened in real time...not your fairyland time. The cop reacted as he should have.

Don't know about the dog, but Denny's blog needs to be put down for pure patheticness.

Thanks for the hat tip...
Most sincerely,
Pure pathetic, crazy Denney
PS. If you haven't noticed, I have Rush Limbaugh tendencies...
Is this a trick? ... Bait?
Did Denny pay you to send people to his blog?
That's sad.

It's a dog...buy a new one.
that is what the tazer is for non lethal but very effective on the criminals and dogs
By "Rush" tendencies, do you mean a fat, drug-addicted, deaf blowhard?
What kind of private citizen keeps a video camera mounted on the outside of their house???? A doper, felon, etc..

That's exactly right! Those are his best assets!!!
You're a pretty sharp ole boy...
Ready for re-education camp,
Denney Crane

405, You must be very disturbed. I feel sorry for you.

We had an Airdale once. His name was Richard Noggin.
9:35 What was his nickmane? lol

Here's somethin I was just thinkin about a little earlier:
Who gives a rats ass who or why anyone goes to Denny Craig's website?

if a dog was chargin at me i'd have to say yes i would shoot the dog.

The cop was on private property. The dog did what a dog is supposed to do.
I hope she she gets a boat load of money and he gets his ass kicked.
And what type of person has a security camera? Anyone who should be dumb enough to move to Wise County especially Newark.
DC probably loves the violence of the dog slaying. Conservatives do love a good shooting.
