Local Blogger In Fort Worth Weekly And It Ain't Me

I don't think I know Sharon Wilson, but I do know she constantly rails against natural gas drilling in Wise County in her blog Bluedaze. Well, the Fort Worth Weekly has taken note and gives her a lot of press here. (That is, if you can read it without getting distracted by those goofy diamond symbols --- something that you think the FW Weekly would have learned to get rid of.) Be nice in the comments. I know this gal is a lightening rod so avoid the name calling for name calling's sake.

Once again, it is refreshing to see someone stand for something as opposed to rolling over as in our current political climate.

12:52 - No Shit!! If this lady stands up or for something, I don't have a negative thing to say about her. If she has balls whether physically or mentally, I'll stand by her strictly because she refuses to politically and correctly, roll over for the powers to be. Power on Sister, whoever you are!!

whaaaaaa whahhhhhh, I'll bet she may use natural gas in her house and probably fills her car with gasoline. See the horse in the background? He's had her! Also I think she may be a man, look at that face! Maybe it's Mzcreep!

WTF, Current political environment? Why don't you roll over and stick your face deep in your pillow.

Uh, the symbols are because you don't have the text encoding set correctly in your browser. Your problem, Barron, not theirs.

I will assume she does not use fossil fuels in her daily life. No natural gas appliances, no electricity (a great deal of electricity in Texas is generated using natural gas as the fuel),no gasoline powered vehicles, no plastic products of any kind, etc. If she does, then her real bent is "it's OK for someone else to look at, hear, and smell drilling, but not me".

It's Rosie the Rivetor

They could use her out in Reatta Estates.

This woman is willing to stick her neck out because she cares about human beings and the land, air, and animals. If she offends, it is because there is truth in what she is saying. Keep on keeping the politicians honest, Sharon! What you are saying is right.

Maybe if Sharon and all her friends would stop using gasoline, natural gas, electricity and plastic there would be less drilling for the stuff she's demanding be conveniently available.

I do not agree with most of TexasSharon's politics but I do give her HUGE KUDOS for taking on the O&G industry and holding to the fire the feet of the bureaucrats responsible for the enforcement of environmental protection regulations.

BRAVA TexasSharon!

As for you Haters who sit on your flabby arses hissing and spitting; do something other than hate and then PERHAPS you MIGHT have SOME positive impact on society.

Anonymous said...

You mean like you do Mzchief? Sit on your arse in front of your computer and spat your HATE to anyone who doesn't happen to agree with YOUR posts? I've been here quite a while, and you happen to be the biggest "HATER" I've seen on here.
Who the hell do you think you are, insinuating that people on here have not had any positive impact on society? You don't have a clue!
Take your pompous attitude and shove it.

Well said mzchief!!!!!!

Did you see that video she has of the air quality around here? That's horrible! It's no wonder ther are so many kooks on here, we all have brain damage from breathing that crap!

She reminds me of all the Trans Texas Corridor heroes, who vehemently objected to the government using eminent domain to take someone's land to build another highway, all the while being very content themselves to drive up and down highways built on land that once belonged to someone, too.

There you go, making it ALL about me.
If I am, as you claim, "the biggest "Hater" on here" cite and provide a link when I have been the one to instigate the hate. I only dish it back to you cretins when I decide to rattle your cages and prove you to be nothing more than JEALOUS LOSERS.

Incidentally, I do and make more in a day sitting at the computer than you do in an entire week.

It really MUST suck to be you.

These companies can drill and still be responsible which most of time they are not. We need more people like Sharon to speak up or one day we will have no water to drink. Sharon wants these companies to be responsible and be good neighbors. She is a great person.

If we're going to cheer someone for standing up for what's right, at least let's find someone that walks the walk, not just talks to talk. She's just mad that someone else isn't stuck with the litter from drilling activity.

Sharon Wilson is well connected within the left wing of the Democratic party. She gained national fame when she posted on Daily Kos Cindy Sheehan's protest outside of President Bush's ranch in Crawford.

She is a good writer; however, her facts don't always check out.

I'm sure she is very happy about Obama's plan for Cap and Trade, regardless of how much it will increase the costs of electricity an average of $1800 a year per family.

To stand up for what you think is right is admirable; however, she is promoting a very hard left anti-big business agenda. For all the employees of the oil and gas industry in our county, this agenda is not in their interest nor for the consumers.

We need natural gas even if wind or solar is more green. It will be decades before we move to those sources. Until then, natural gas is heating and cooling our homes and we are fortunate to produce it in our county.

I think she is hot. Someone with that much passion would be fun to be around. All you milquetoast people complaining about her bore me to tears.

There's that woman who used to be the Dem chair again pretending to be anonymous. You can't be anonymous by using the same old Cindy Sheehan attack material over and over again. You forgot the part about Sharon's house. You always love to throw that around. You love you some oil & gas bidness.

I went to school with Sharon, K - 12. We went to Heights in Fort Worth where she was born. That picture is not a flattering one. The other picture in the article is much better.

She was always a person who cared a lot about other people, animals and the land. She walks the walk alright.

Um, anon 8:50.

Our homes are not heated with natural gas. All the gas they get around here goes up east. Our energy comes from coal.

What was that you said about facts?

Anonymous said...

Wonder who did her makeup for the photo shoot?

Isn't there oil in cosmetics?

Anonymous said...

Um, anon 10:58

You can't speak for everyone, because my home IS heated with natural gas, and I live in this county.

That's a fact!

Casual Observer said...

10:58 Please explain how a natural gas furnace and stove are fueled by coal.

Sharon is so well connected to other left wing political activists, that anyone posting a negative comment against her will be attacked from outside Wise County!

For some reason she doesn't want to be connected to her anti-war Cindy Sheehan connections now that she has taken on dirty ole oil, as her fellow progressives call the industry!

When progressives in office pass more regulations and big government control on the oil industry, she applauds it! When Boone Pickens appeared on the View, she called in her internet contacts to protest his pro natural gas plan to end foreign dependence on energy!

The radical left uses bully tactics, intimidation, lies and any means to promote their agenda. Political operatives like Sharon can have a very negative impact on our country.

Standing up to progressives on their agenda is never easy but our country is worth saving.

Bluedaze is helping sell Jeff Prince's music (the reporter who wrote the story).

Barry could you bring up G.I.V.E. for discussion instead of giving attention to progressive activists.

People need to know the Senate will be voting on this legislation that will require our children to volunteer if we don't stay on top of it!

Are you suggesting that she should be happy about the oil and gas litter? Of all the nonsense here, you are the winner of the prize.

Anonymous said...

9:16 The oil and gas litter as you call it will be less since low prices are slowing down drilling here. That means a lot of workers are going to be out of a job soon.

Being happy about it and spending day and night railing against an industry that provides energy and jobs is envirnomental radicalism, a left wing agenda that will only make energy more expensive for all including the older folks who are on a fixed income.

The industry is regulated but not enough for the left wing of the Democratic Party. Look at California to see how activists kept out needed refinery from being built.

Never under estimate the power of organized efforts on the left wing. As we look at what is going on in Washington now with the grab of power and proposed taxes on carbon that will cripple are economy even more, they depend on grassroots support to keep the pressure on any moderate Democrat that might go against the change to Socialism and bigger governement.

When you understand the game, you can look past just someone wanting to leave a better life to the next generation. If they had any thoughts for the next generation or any feelings for the poor, they would not promote more regulation and the Cap and Trade taxes on energy!

Um... Natural Gas generates the most KWHs of electricity in Texas... Not Coal.

So it can heat your home directly, or it likely may heat your home indirectly.

I applaud Mrs. Wilson efforts, but find it revealing that she chose to participate in their profits...

"Ironically, the laptop and video camera she uses to document assaults on the countryside were paid for by the drilling industry. She owns half the mineral rights on her property, so when a gas company made plans to drill beneath it, she signed a lease and received a bonus and royalties.

“They were going to drill whether I signed or not,” she said. “If I signed, that meant less money going to them.”

Perhaps she is donating all of that money to charity?

Sorry, just getting more than a little tired of everyone blaming big bad companies for all the ills of our world.

[see abortion activists who fund PETA, PETA activists who wear leather, Green activists who buy anything with plastics in them, etc.]

I think Sharon Looks Great for being almost 60!

BTW Barry,

Since when do you have to pay for a web site that's a free service offered by Google?

60?!?!?! No way that woman is 60. I'd guess mid to late 40's. Oh well, at least she's not a fat cow.
