Remind me what was Texas playing for in their bowl game? I think it was a bag of chips and not a Nat'l Championship.

Remind me why the second best team in the Big 12 was playing for the national championship??? We all know who won the head to head matchup in October. Cry me a freaking river you lost again
for the 5th time in a row in a bowl game.
Dont give me that we lost to Texas Tech bull crap

Cry me a freaking river 1:40. Your supposedly best team in the Big XII barely beat an average Ohio State. And you think you could have beaten Florida? Ha. I'd rather have a coach who gets his team to the national title game 4 times in 10 years so that at least they have a chance of winning. How many times has Texas been to that game in the same 10 year period.... hmmmm, let me think.... only once.

What do you mean 'don't give me that 'we lost to Texas Tech'' bull crap?

Uh, you did lose to Texas Tech. Win that game and you play for the big one. However, if you cannot take care of your own business you should not whine because voters and computers don't see things like you do.

By the way, don't forget that Macky Mack did not vote for the whiny orange as #1, so why should others?

I didn't say Texas belonged in the national championship. Did Oklahoma take care of their own business??? This crap will never be solved until there is a playoff system involved. Utah or USC could have beat Florida

Boomer Sooner this 45-35 need i say more

I think Alabama got blwon out by a school from the Mountian West Conference. I think it was Utah the only team to finish 12-0

Florida beat OU by exactly the same margin that Texas beat OU.
Texas and Florida would have been a much better matchup.
Seems like the Sooners can't win the big one!

Comparing teams by who beats who never works. Different settings, different moods, different players injured, different weather, different everything. Florida lost to Ole Miss, who lost to Wake Forest, who lost to Maryland, who lost to Middle Tennessee State, who lost to Troy, who lost to Southern Miss, and so forth.

Starting with Florida, and after about a dozen "who lost to who" steps I got all the way to Cal-Poly as the national champion.

That ol' gal's upset because her band teacher told her that if the sooners won she could eat her clarinet.

In 1984, BYU was voted national champions after going unbeaten, yet not playing a single team that ended up ranked in the top 25. Utah beat 3 teams that ended the season ranked.

Yes, Texas needs to stop crying and start the campaigning for a playoff system.

If you do go into the "who beat who" game, you do have to give Ole Miss some credit. Even though they had all those losses, not only did they beat Florida, but they beat Texas Tech, who beat Texas, who beat OU. How many teams could claim that position, having "beaten" both national championship contenders?

Folks, the only conference whose teams won every bowl game they played was the Pac-10. This year the Big-12 had an impressive season and most teams had great offenses. But when it came to crunch time - they crapped out. Even Texas was seconds from losing to an Ohio State team that didn't know how to pass. The bowls exposed the Big-12. We needed the Utah, USC, Florida and Texas playoff.
