Pulled From The Comments

I would like to know the address. Seriously. (And I've been incorrectly referring to the book as An Innocent Man.)

Isn't there some sort of statute that states the renter has to disclose things like that to a potential tenant? Of course it probably doesn't apply to individuals renting out rooms or cases like this.

Good book. I have read it. Didn't realize it was true story when I bought it.

Barry,
I'm 90% sure it was on the corner of W 14th and Broadway. If you were to drive south on broadway (if I have the correct road) it would be on your right and you couldn't miss it. I took some pics of it last summer when I was back in town, I'll try to email you a picture of it in a few days if your interested. It's been remodeled some over the years, as you can imagine. It now has red brick on the outside instead on the white siding....but it is still a garage apt.

I also read the book--Makes you wonder about a lot of convictions and truly think about using the death penalty. Made me also think about Wise County...and the time Jana pressed charges as an adult against a 17 year old with the mind of a 12 year old...kept him in jail through his high school prom and graduation (no money for bail). Then she released him 6 months later for lack of evidence. But he was nobody with no one-small town justice.

Barry,

Did you get a life and stop caring about your blog? Congrats but to us who only have time to read on the weekends it is sad. Anyway enjoyed you since skattershooting, time moves on and life must too. Hope you and the new friend have a great life. She must be something to make you slow down on the blog. Goood for you!

I read the book also, didn't know it was a true story either. I have read all the Grisham books and have them in my collection, some hardback, some paperback. I find myself picking them up and reading them a second and third time.

Yes, 10:19 you are correct that is Broadway. It is on 14th and Broadway on the right. And it does have red brick on the outside now.

I became interested in this book based on what Barry has said about it but,in a "the back of my mind, I'll watch for it, hopefully a friend has a copy kind of way."

After reading a bit of that prosecutors site I'm getting that book, pure and simple (actually I'll try to get it today)

Regardless of the facts (which I know little of now) that dude is in serious DENIAL about the issue- give his site a pretty good read over and you'll see what I mean.
