The "Christian Left" is like Bigfoot or the Loch Ness Monster: People want it to exist so badly that they keep telling themselves over and over that it's real.

Crazy leftists. They're always good for a laugh.

Anonymous said...

So there is the other member of the Christian left. I wondered if I was all alone in this world.

Anonymous said...

OK.....I'll state the obvious. "Christian left" is an oxymoron. You can't be what we consider left and be a christian.

Anonymous said...

Jesus was about as far left as you can get.

Anonymous said...

Yes, but he wasn't a Christian. He was Jewish.

Anonymous said...

If you are right (christian) how in the world can you be left?

Christians do not suck the brains out of unborn babies. Christian abide by all the laws of God. They do not isolate 10 verses in the Law and ignore the surrounding scriptures.

What is good for a laugh is the one's that really think they have a clue. Or know what Jesus Would Do. It is the parts that are used to make a point, but other parts that don't fit into the plan are BS and ignored because it does not count. But maybe it does. If one judges others that believe in liberty and freedom and Christ and think a Lefty is not in good standing with the Lord, may have to do a little 'plaining at the Heavenly Gates. I say "may" cause I don't know. Not like the Rightous Right Publomatics that have all the answers and a direct text message service to God.

10:43 - good one. Send this to the next meeting of the Wise County Republican Party. It is absolutely FULL of folks your last sentence describes.

The biggest SIN they committed was electing a liar as President.

Anonymous said...

I have always believed that a Christian doesn't have to beat the drum, beat the bible or have tacky bumper stickers on their car....they rather show their faith through kindnesses and deeds. Talk is cheap. Live by example and walk the talk. Similiarly, people who really have money don't brag about it.

I am a liberal weenie and a Christian. I don't need you to define me, thank you very much. I personally don't think I could abort, but that's between God and the individual. He'll decide the punishment I think. I am for a huge open front door for immigrants but I want the border closed. I want the tent to be inclusive, I personnaly don't care what the individual helping me feed the hungry does in his bedroom. I'll let God handle that one.

I'll pray for those who have to resort to name calling and labeling as means of levreging their political point....and I'll even admit they have points....just not ones I wish to follow.

AARP is running a correct ad. If we don't come together we are all going down.

Isn't it odd that all the bashing of Christians with stereotypical descriptions was prompted by a Christian bumper sticker that directly contradicted those stereotypes?

Maybe the media-created caricature of Christians is wrong. Ya think?

6:45 - elected a liar as president? you must be referring to Clinton, eh?

there are six things wich the Lord hates,
Yes, seven wich are an abomination to Him.
Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that divises wiched plans, feet that run rapidly to evil,a false witness who utters lies, and one who spreads strife among brothers.

proverbs6:16-19

i dont think Obama fits all seven but he definatly fits 5 of them, the DNC platform embraces all seven.

Anonymous said...

I don't know 10:20, from everything I've read and all the visual representations of Jesus I've seen, he sure looks and sounds like a hippy to me.

6:45, you say the biggest sin they committed was electing a liar as president. What president are you refering to? For as long as I've been alive they have all lied. Hell, just to get elected they have to lie. Who would vote for a president who says he will have to cut spending and raise taxes to balance the budget? We can't handle that kind of truth.

BG, good stuff

In the end, ONLY The Lord knows a person's heart and I doubt it'll matter whether a person politically was right, left, or in the middle. Certainly no one in Wise County who has any Biblical knowledge at all can make that judgement because if they do, they will then realize that THEY will be judged with that same measure of judgement. Extreme right and extreme left go fight between yourselves and leave us normal, regular Christian folks out of it. Your BOTH nuts in your own way.

Someone posted earlier that we really don't know what Jesus would do. I agree. I think there are some things we can all assume Jesus would NOT do;

1) Drive around a gas guzzling vehicle.

2)Sit on his ass watching garbage on TV

3)Spend millions building megachurches with electronic signs and 5 acre parking lots.

4)Sit in a little camouflage box and sucker-punch deer with a high powered rifle.

5)Call it sport (see #4)

6)Put millions of people behind bars and treat them like animals.

7)Blog (might be wrong about that one!)

8)Be a lawyer

Anonymous said...

"4)Sit in a little camouflage box and sucker-punch deer with a high powered rifle.

5)Call it sport (see #4)"

So you would rather have disease ridden animals, over population of said animals and more accidents etc due to the over population?! Get real! MOST decent people who HUNT also eat the deer that they are hunting. As with anything there are bad apples to give the good ones a bad name.

Get over yourself and become a vegetarian if you have a problem with animals being killed for FOOD. Think about it next time you eat a burger.

Anonymous said...

I'm a Christian Democrat whether you like it or not.

Anonymous said...

Barry, When did you buy an Element???

Anonymous said...

No I don't have a problem with killing animals for food. Don't see a lot of deer burgers out there, not near as many as I see antlers hanging on the walls of small-minded people who somehow think their manhood has been proven by killing a big buck. Show us all what a big man you really are. Don't bait the deer. Go out there with a knife and bring back that buck. Then I'll be more impressed.

Most people do not consume the deer they slaughter in the name of recreation. And if this were about food, doe meat is better. And if this were about population control, the doe/buck proportion is wildly out of balance because you hunters are killing too many bucks and damaging the quality of the herd.

The tenor of your statement shows you to have serious self esteem problems. Check the size of your penis and get back to me on that one, bubba

10;47....... Well I guess that is in fact pretty funny if you are a woman. What's even funnier is the level of your ignorance as pertains to wildlife management.

Specifically:
The deer population never seemed to have a problem controlling itself before we took it on as a project. Disease is not a problem in a poulation when natural selection is allowed to run its course. But if there is an intervention (hunting for trophies) then the strongest, most viable males are eliminated from the gene pool, leaving all future generations weaker and more susceptible. Since this conversation started by discussing things Jesus would not do, can you still tell me He would think hunters' behavior in 21st cuntury America somehow compliments nature?

Let me explain it to you this way. If an alien force descended on earth and harvested all of the strongest, smartest, best looking young men, what do you think your children/grandchildren would be like as progeny of all of the geeks and retards who were left behind?

Do you think legalizing murder is anything less than an abomination in the site of God?

Do you really believe that our own individual ethical and moral beliefs supercedes God.

There was a time that Christians would rather be fed to lions than bow down to government and their laws.

If America were truly a free country, there would be NO laws. Justify your position all you want, but looking back at the history of man in the Bible, I don't believe God will accept your endorsement of abortion/murder.

Think about it. There are SOME non Christians who are as repulsed by your openly Whacko Christian antics as some Christians are by openly gay couples. Oh, and following your line of logic, the reason you bash gays is because of your fears about being gay.

I'd bet you'd be surprised to find that MANY Christians know that to judge others is not acceptable. Judgement Day will come, but it won't be us Christians sitting on the big bench. We try to live by the example of Christ. Yes, we are sinners, big sinners. Who says we are perfect, huh? No one pushes Christianity in your face any more than "gayism" is pushed into mine. As I said before...... if you have a "thing" against Christianity, then go on with your own beliefs. I will tell you though that I AM A CHRISTIAN and I WILL ALWAYS support my beliefs when others attack what they themselves are insecure about ( and that means you too). If Christianity is "in your face" it's because you won't turn your face away and go your own way. Move on, Mzchief.....move on.

Matthew 7:1-5 is one of the most misquoted scriptures in the bible. It is an example of the pagan Roman influence on the Jewish sect that is called Christianity. The verse DOES NOT PROHIBIT the judgement and punishment of those who do not abide by the Law given by God to his people after they were delivered from Egypt. It does not tell us, Jews or Christians, that we are not permitted to tell our children that homosexuals are sinners, that murderers are sinners, and that God tells us what their punishment should be. Most of the recent history of reinterpetation of God's laws center around society's desire to liberalize views on sexuality, expecially acts of sex that have been frowned upon by man since his creation. "It is easy to misquote almost anything to produce a desired effect or opinion."

Since I'm a Christian and a sinner, I left my comment because it seems my beliefs differ from the Christian with the bumper sticker and I want it known. I bashed no one. I judged no one.

I would hope that Christians would help one another not be complacent nor apathetic in their beliefs. If a Christian chooses not to adhere to God's Word and puts his own beliefs first, we get Wacko Christians...

I admire Muslims because they are willing to die for their beliefs; but it saddens me that, like many Christians, they hve difficultly living them.

A lukewarm, complacent, apethetic Christian does far more damage to Christianity than any Christian basher ever could.

Following Christ means following His instruction and example. He loved sinners; but rebuked sin and advocated repentance.

"Men tell us in these days that sin is what you think it is. Well, it is not. Sin is what God thinks it is. You may think according to your own conscience. God thinks according to His." John G. Lake

"Men do not differ much about what things they call evils; they differ enormously about what evils they will call excusable." G. K. Chesterton

"The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it." Albert Einstein

"To ignore evil is to become an accomplice to it." Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

You're free to bash me all you want, I expect it... I will not stand silent while a Wacko tries to make the world think they are following Christ.

"You are a little peon who I am actually happy I won't have to see in Heaven."

Now that's a Christian statement.

You will know they are Christians by their love...

Denny Crane, You are the WACKO for sure. At least the other poster does take a stand against Christian bashers. What are you? The "toe licker" "banjo plucker" for Mzchief? I don't see anything wacko in the posts here at all. Mzchief just calls anyone wacko if they don't follow her nonsense in thinking. And yes... I too am happy that her kind will not be in heaven. Are you aware that God FIGHTS evil? There are lots who I am happy will not grace the streets of heaven. I bet you know a few too...........so get off your own high horse. Your name sake says enough about you.

Christians can't be "upset" in the face of sin? They can't defend Christianity in the face of attackers? Geeeeeze, Denny Crane, you should revisit the story of Jesus in the Temple. You seem to be the caliber of Peter, or better yet, of Judas.

Denney Crane said...

I defend Christianity, but choose to hate sin and love the sinner. Christ set that example.

You're not Jesus and this isn't His temple/house.

Christians are commissioned to bring salvation to non-believers. If you prefer someone/anyone to burn in hell, there's a good chance you will probably see them there.

Go practice your religion, but do not think it lines up with Christianity. Get your snakes charmed, bomb abortion clinics, picket fallen soldiers funerals...set your example of fighting sin, but it's not the great commission.

Never said I was Jesus! Here's a bulletin for you: YOU'RE NOT JESUS EITHER! And judging by many of your posts on this blog, you're certainly not the "perfect" Christian you profess to be. Here's another bulletin for you.... This world IS Jesus' temple. Maybe you better pay better attention.

I am a Christian who follows God's word. I am not a radical "WACKO" Christian but I am sick and tired of the endless tirade of Christian bashers here (led by Mzchief). Take a look at one of the quotes YOU put up:

"To ignore evil is to become an accomplice to it."

I guess that makes YOU an accomplice.

"This world IS Jesus' temple. Maybe you better pay better attention." Sorry partner, I disagree.

The temple of God is in man or His house of worship. It's definitely not of the world.
1 Cor. 3:16 & John 15:16

"you're certainly not the "perfect" Christian you profess to be." True, but I never professed to be perfect. As a matter of fact, I claimed to be a sinner just 4 commments above yours.

You go ahead and condemn them to hell all you want: all you do is add fuel their fire.
Romans 12:20 says love them and it's like coals of fire being heaped on their head!

And by the way, I believe there are WACKO Christians among us...I may very possibly be one of them. But what I do pay very close attention to what Jesus actually said in the Bible as well as the behavior of fellow Christians.

Because of my conservative and Christian beliefs, I don't believe in: Pro Choice, I consider abortion murder; Gay marriage; government dependency; school taught morality and spirituality; the legalization of dope; nor will I vote for any politician who supports any of the above.

Just one complacent, apethetic Christian does far more damage than twelve Christian bashers ever could.

Don't let your anger steal your joy.

Your conservative Christian beliefs are the same as mine, exactly the same. I am not angry, I have plenty of joy that comes from my Christian background, my family, and my friends. I just refuse to sit by while the bashing goes on and on on this blog. I disagree strongly with your opinion that one complacent, apathetic Christian does far more damage that twelve Christian bashers. There are MANY young people who are very impressionable in this world and I do not wish to sit idly by while Christian bashers lead them away. Those young people need to see Christians of ALL KINDS be willing to stand for their beliefs and not turn the other cheek when we are continually attacked. Therefore, Denny Crane, you keep your opinions and I'll keep mine. Our perspectives may be different but I believe Christ would be happy to see you stand firm in your beliefs in the face of those who would destroy it and not join them in the downing of your fellow Christians. I will always stand by my fellow Christians, no matter to what "degree" they are Christian. I think Jesus would be happy with that. FAKE Christians only fuel my fire, though....and I can usually spot them rather quickly. I do NOT appreciate mzchief's bashing of our faith and I intend to let her know that every time she blabs about it. I don't like bashing of any kind, and I will not turn my head the other direction. As I said before, mzchief can have her beliefs, and she can spout them all she wants WITHOUT bashing anyone else's beliefs. I won't relent on that.
