That's a ball python. They make good pets, but they are escape artists for sure. Was it found dead, or did someone kill it? They are completely harmless at that size - unless you're a mouse.

OMG, some knucklehead thinks it's a ball python. It looks nothing like a ball python. The pattern on this snake is consistent and even. A ball python's pattern is random, more flowing. Folks, it's a plain old rat snake of one kind or another. I think MOST of us are aware of that. Ball python...geez.
Rat snake, eh? Well, that makes a lot more sense now doesn't it Mr. Smarty Pants. But, I think ball pythons on the grassy knoll makes a much better story.
Here's a topic that can get us ALL into trouble. Compare the attorneys (each of them) in town to a particular species of snake. I think the rat snake best resembles Barry. It's thin, kinda resembles other more intimidating snakes, but ends up feeding on mice.
