So Much For Family Values

What makes this story interesting is that the kid's father is the linebackers' coach at Baylor. Story. I wish failure upon you young man. And may your father never speak to you again.

He's a moron. He will ride the pine in Austin for 5 years. Makes his decision on the QBs there now. Doesn't he know that Texas will get 2 top qbs every year he's there. By the time he gets fed up he 'll transfer to Florida International.

Who in the F would go to Baylord over Texas? Nobody, if given the choice; unless your parents control and dominate your every move.

Maybe this kid wants to ride the pine. Maybe he realizes he won't start at Baylor so chooses to sit a UT instead. And maybe he wants to get away from his dad (whose job may now be in jeopardy).

Maybe he's thinking about more than football... maybe he's comparing living in Waco with living in Austin...maybe he's thinking about what he will major in and the educationnal differences between Baylor and UT...maybe he's realized much earlier than most of us, that it's his life and his choice. He is not a moron and anyone who calls him one is. He is a pretty strong kid who has made a choice he thinks will make him happy, whether he "rides the pine" or not. I congratulate and applaud him.
