Only To Be Followed By Perry Como (or not)

I walk through WinStar Casino on the Oklahoma border about two years ago and almost died of lung cancer. But, as I listen to one its radio ads this morning, I wonder exactly what demographic they are appealing to: Their headline entertainer for Labor Day Weekend is . . . Chubby Checker. The ad had text of "Come do the Twist at WinStar Casino . . . . " Can you imagine that crowd when he actually fires up the Twist?

Every Thursday morning, in front of a church on 114, a large crowd gathers in order to catch a ride to the casinos in Oklahoma. By the look of the crowd, one can only imagine.

I forgot to mention that the church is in Boyd

Gaming no longer is an economic impact tool for a state or region. It's just a place for weathered poor people to go and lose money. Just too many around these days. In Texas' case, however, because we are surrounded by gambling it would be helpful to have one major casino location. Keep some of that money in Texas rather than subsidizing OK and LA economies with Texas money. If Texas did open up a major casino location, OK and LA would cry, cry, cry.

Have you ever wondered why "DW's Porn Store" is the first business south of the Red River on I-35? Oklahoma laws governing the sale of hardcore porn are far tougher than those in Texas.

Texas=Porn
Oklahoma=Gambling
Louisiana=Drunk,Naked,Black-Jack ANYTIME

No offense to the people in Louisiana but is ANYTHING illegal in that state?

mizchief, you must have entirely to much time on your hands to compulsively, obsessively feel the need to respond to every SINGLE post on this blog. With all your travel and teaching ESL and skiing and having dinner by yourself off of your best china (might I add, that's the only dinnerware you have) and getting all of your degrees and allegedly working at your extremely high paying important job, I'm starting to think that you are all fluff and no substance. Shouldn't you be out giving therapy or life skill classes or etiquette classes to the underlings? Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh!

Amen 3:01. I couldn't have said if better myself. I am off to have my frozen pizza served on a paper plate while watching tv. MZchief should try it. Much easier than washing and drying all that fine China. If she is as busy as she says she is, how does she have time to waste pampering herself? I am a college graduate. I have a full time job, husband, and 2 kids. Who has time for all the fluff?
