Katie Says Goodbye

As the Today show recapped the last 15 years of Katie Couric being on the show, it occurred to me: What a crazy country we live in. (Oklahoma City bombing, 9/11, O.J., Rodney King, Iran-Contra, Anita Hill, Columbine, and the list goes on. And there is more to come.)

Katie Couric's departure from the Today Show also coincides with my Birthday which I consider a present. I celebrated Katie's departure with a Blog Edition discussing her among others of the Drive-By Media:

No doubt Barry, a whole lot more to come. The cliche' that says, "Just when you think you've seen it all" is very, very true.

I don't know if anyone caught this, but there was a GREAT moment on the show this morning:

Harvey Fierstein, the gay entertainer with the gravely voice, sang her a farewell song, and a couple of the lines were (paraphrased)

"I always watched through the shower,
I always wanted to scrub Matt Lauer"

Lauer had a "gee, I've got to laugh at this" look on his face...
priceless!

I just love her. She's a true gem that has a great balance of intelligence, humor, compassion, and looks.

Good riddance! I watched GMA rather than Today. Now I'll watch Charlie Gibson in the evening. I suspect Katie will be an evening bomb.
