Trust Me
President Bush continues to take a grilling over whether Harriet Miers is conservative enough to serve on the Supreme Court. Since she has served as many days as a judge as I have (zero), there is no track record for the hardliners to rely upon.
In essence, Bush said today in a news conference, "Trust me, this nomination will be fine."
The far right wing is apparently not willing to do so. I wonder why?

I think its a brillian political move by the Christian conservative pro life pro family religious right. I think they really do support her but if they come out against her, the Dems will say she's OK and won't give her such a hard time in the hearings. Another brilliant political move by Karl Rove.

OK, I'll bite, 10:06 anon. What does the Bible and/or Christian teaching and the Christian faith say about women? And 6:50 anon, you hit the nail on the head. You don't sound like a man hater to me. 6:50 anon sounds like a someone who has some of his or her own gender issues....hmmmm.
From 1st Corinthians 11 (The Message):
3In a marriage relationship, there is authority from Christ to husband, and from husband to wife. The authority of Christ is the authority of God. 4Any man who speaks with God or about God in a way that shows a lack of respect for the authority of Christ, dishonors Christ. 5In the same way, a wife who speaks with God in a way that shows a lack of respect for the authority of her husband, dishonors her husband. 6Worse, she dishonors herself--an ugly sight, like a woman with her head shaved. No veils.
No three steps behind.
No granting every wish.
In fact Paul teaches that the husband is be like Christ in order for a woman to submit to his spiritual leadership. It is not a slave or inferior relationship at all.
They obviously have seen great liars before, particularly among their peers, and therefore trust no one.
