I Know, I Know, You Don't Care

A judge, prosecutor and/or jury thought society would be safe with someone charged with a sexual offense being placed on probation. But now Parker County officials decide that Halloween requires the probationers to be locked up in the probation office for about four hours in the evening? (Note: People in the pic are not sex offenders - it was just a wacky Halloween pic).

I think it is a good idea. Somehow I figure it is a violation of their civil rights or something. I personally think they should be permanently locked up or executed.

Wow! Should we execute the 18 year old that had consentual sex with the 16 year old minor until dad found out and had charges filed?

Sorry Condoleesa, I don't agree

There are probably MORE "registered sexual offenders" that were 18 and there partner was 16 or 15, than other types of offenses. Do you think it's fair for them to have "sex offender" pinned to them for the rest of their lives?........I don't! Some belong in jail, some should have never been brought before the courts!

And, no, I don't have any kinfolk that have been charged with this offense.

Ok, but in the OVERALL gist of the post, locking up the creepy people on a give-candy-to-little-kids-kind-of-night, it's ingeniously simple & a good idea. So is Condoleesa's follow up plan.....

7:42 because he's a sick f*** and it's the law don't like it then vote and change the law if you want to promote a whore! typical uneducated back woods look my sister looks cute attitude! Save me a Tax Dollar from a future wise county Wal Mart shopper packing her 16 yr. old kids kid on her hip. I laugh daily at the trash that has a kid raising a kid...not by mistake but by some sorry a** female paking her grandchild???? as her kid buy's school clothes and she picks up a carton?

While I think there are a few registered sex offenders that are the unlucky 18 year olds dating a 16 year old I think 99% are perverted freaks they aren't sorry they did it they are sorry they got caught. You should be very afraid of someone that feels no remorse.

I think most judges err on the side of caution when making someone register as a sex offender. Of course the rich can usually buy their way out with a good lawyer.

There are at the very LEAST two enormous problems with what I hope is a well intentioned albeit misguided attempt at keeping safe Halloweeners (that is a word, right?).

First problem…Not all convicted sex offenders are pedophiles and not all pedophiles are convicted sex offenders. Not all people convicted of theft are shoplifters some just steal autos and not all shoplifters have been convicted of theft thus it would be both pointless and unfair to lock down all persons convicted of theft during Weatherford’s First Monday Trade Days junk sale.

Second problem…The minute some group/organization is allowed to unilaterally implement a plan that infringes on the rights and freedom of any member or members of one group in an attempt to do what is best for another group you can bet your bippy it wont be long before some do-gooder is taking a whack at your rights.

In the interest of fun and to further protect Halloweeners let’s add to the plan that EVERYONE who has ever been convicted of a moving violation and/or had an auto accident turn in the keys to their auto for four hours during the evening of Halloween so as to make certain no Halloweeners are mowed down in the dark. Just one more idea to stir the cauldron, ONLY healthful treats can be handed out to Halloweeners of normal weight. After all, what law-abiding adult wants to be responsible for fat kids getting fatter? Keep in mind we’re just trying to make sure Halloweeners are safe.

Or maybe just maybe, we could consider not allowing our impressionable innocent children to not go stranger's door to stranger's door and instead detour them to an organization that does background checks on all volunteer's and provide's an alternative fun.

I'm curious how long until trick or treating will be a thing of the past?

Trick or Treating is almost a thing of the past in my WASP neighborhood.

When I lived in Phoenix though EVERYONE did it and did it up BIG. Lots of decorations and stuff in the yard and every house in the neighborhood participated and put a LOT of effort into it. I guess Mormons don't think it will make you go to hell like the Baptists do,

the1themis, I'll bet you enjoy your job. Don't agree with you though. "Qualifying" isn't going to sway me in this issue. Bad guys are bad guys are bad guys.

Too many "rights" for the offenders, not enough for the victims and Regular Joes who behave themself.

And, I'll even put myself on a limb here: Halloween has nothing to do w/promoting fat kids. It's the lazy parents who give them too much candy and junk food because it's easier than making them try raisins and broccoli.

And, I hate Halloween as a "holiday," by the way.
