Footloose

Ok, I got suckered into the last 30 minutes of 1984's Footloose tonight. Two observations: (1) I had totally forgotten that Sarah Jessica Parker was in it, and (2) How did we all accept that a bunch of country kids got together at a barn for their first dance ever and then miraculously broke out into professionally choregraphed dance steps?

I bought in to it 1) because I was hoping that Wren McCormack would move to my town...and 2) because I was 11. I still cherish that soundtrack.

Your right andria, the soundtrack is awesome and for some reason I always enjoyed the preacher's view against dancing being disputed in the town meeting by using the Bible.

and to this day you just want to jump out and break out dancing everytime you hear the title song. That was even played towards the end of my daughter's prom last year!

Hey, come on--we Wise County youngsters have been doing that for years!

I was in high school when this movie came out and I know it's kind of cheesy now, but at the time I loved it. The soundtrack is great!
