Uccch. Do y'all understand that stuff like this is why EVERYBODY ELSE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD thinks people in Oklahoma & Texas & other gun-fetishizing states are a bunch of dangerous paranoid psychotics? What in the hell is so scary about the f'ing bread aisle at Kroger? She worried about getting jumped by some of the darker breads?
12:06, Sir or Madam Spanish War Donkey: Then how come you need six? I mean -- maybe you hunt. That's one kind of gun. And maybe you want one for your home -- protecting your domain, or whatever, from the imagined hordes. That's two. What else is there? Why the need for an arsenal, if you're not scared?
1:31 -- Ha! I know. But that's just my Wise County bona fides; my people are Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas as far back as we were able to trace in my 4th-grade genealogy assignment. Nobody could say for sure where we got off the boat from, originally -- Ireland? England? Scotland? [shrug]
Pistol for CC/home defense, a .243 for hogs/coyotes, a .270 for deer, a 12 gauge for ducks, a 20 gauge for smaller birds such as dove and quail, and a .22 that was my grandfather's before he passed that I've never shot but hope to teach my children to shoot with one day. You don't use a hammer to cut down a tree, the same goes for guns. Your move 12:20... And it's Dr. Thank you for playing.
As always, you guys crack me up. why more than 1 gun? long range big body target, long range small body targets, small flying targets, those who would disagree with my right to protect my life & property and try to take either, the list goes on, and on. as far having 6 guns and being afraid of nothing, i might consider needing more ammunition and running out of tasty snacks & beverages.
LOL, everybody that doesn't believe that the right to bear arms is not poltically correct can thank those that did believe and acted within their conscience for the ability to state their non believing opinion.
Is everyone in Wise County descended from the Oklahoma gene pool?
You people do understand, do you not, that the two duly elected Senators from oklahoma represent the level of intellectual acuity in that state? Tom Coburn and Jim Inhofe are the epitome of Oklahoma's intelligence, reason, understanding and judgement?
Whee Doggies!! To paraphrase an icon of the 60's, Do da words "Deep Shit" mean anything to ya?
Not so very long ago a cynical friend of mine commented that if there really is a God, and he is watching us, the least we can do is be entertaining... and you folks in Wise County are certainly entertaining!!
I have a CHL and carry. The reason I would not carry open is because if a bad guy enters the store the first thing he is going to do is shoot the open carry guy before the robbery gets started. I would rather be the surprise than be surprised.
2:25: Dummy. It's not whether I/we "believe the right to bear arms is politically correct" or not. It's in the Constitution, so there you have it.
Now, whether I/we believe it's a GOOD IDEA to pack heat in the damn hell ass grocery store, or picking your kid up from first grade, or in the Sonic drive-thru, or while typing comments on a blog out in your backyard, or whatever ... that's a whole 'nother thing entirely. I happen to believe that's NUTS, and indicative of a very paranoid and delusional mindset, with absolutely huge potential to devolve into total chaos and great harm to more people than it could ever help, and you obviously think it's great. Thus our respective decisions as to where to make our homes are the fitting ones for each of us in our turn.
Every one of y'all thinks you're Chuck Frickin Norris, kickin ass and not bothering to take names ...
What you liberal weenie idiots that talk about sneaking up behind her and putting a gun in her back or stealing her weapon haven't thought of is the guy down the aisle from you is watching you do all this through his sights on his gun. Wanna think twice about how stupid you sound?
For those arguing the bread aisle is not dangerous, that's a stupid argument. I bet people felt perfectly safe in the snack line in a certain theater in Aurora, CO. You have to be prepared for anything, anywhere. That being said I think open carry is a bad idea for the same reason 307 does. The element of surprise may mean the difference between live or die.
There is nothing stopping the criminals from carrying their weapons and unfortunately the laws do NOT protect us until the crime has already been committed! This lady and or law abiding citizen caring the hand cannon may just save or has saved a life from a criminal act. The fact or statistic that we will likely never see is how many times a criminal is deterred from committing such a crime by seeing a normal law abiding citizen leveling the playing field with the ability to defend themselves. Therefore, that lady could be saving lives at the supermarket and no one never even knows it happened....God Bless OUR RIGHTS and the 2ND AMENDMENT!! Quietly saving lives everyday!!
That picture was not taken today, yesterday, this week, or this month. I saw it on a forum at least 2 months ago. And, btw, wh is law enforcement. See the badge on the other hip. Even if not in an open carry state, she is legal. And I bet she could whip anyone who tried to take that gun off her hip from behind her back.
You folks never watch a Western? There was a reason as the West got civilized, towns started adopting ordinances that no one could wear their gun while inside the city.
Namely, because folks is ... tempermental.
An the folks that REALLY wants to pack the heat is more tempermental than those what don't.
The shootout at the OK Corrall just happened cause somebody twitched.
No bad guy will grab from behind, he'll wait until she's loading stuff into her pickup and whack her on the head THEN steal the gun (and the truck). For those that seem to love The Second Amendment so much perhaps they need to be reminded of the first thirteen words: " A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a Free State..." The creators of that document didn't want and couldn't afford a standing army and expected ALL able bodied men to be ready to be called to arms and defend the country. The Amendment is not permission to build an arsenal of military style weapons in your basement.

I can just see old fat women and men on those scooters at Decatur Walmart with Rifles and gun belts strapped on while they shop.
Way to go OK. Everyone should be armed. The criminals would think twice before attempting anything unacceptable by society.
Breaking...Paridise schools ..big search now...
How hard would it be to come up behind her, take the gun and use it on her? I think concealed might be safer...
Kimber Crimson Carry II - nice gun
AZ went from open carry to concealed back to open carry. I prefer concealed because it adds the element of game theory to the scenario.

is it possible that she's in the security biz or detective/cop, etc?

11:46 We don't care what y'all think
Um, 11:46, if I may; I own 6 guns and I'm not scared of shit.
11:59: Obviously! And it's working out really well for you guys.
But for what it's worth -- which, I know, is nothing -- I'm not exactly the Other that you assume I am; I'm a 4th-generation Decatur native.
Kimber and Ruger are guns for white trash.
Rage
I feel so much safer... If those damn Canadians try to invade they will have to deal with Oklahoma first. I can sleep better tonight.
Remind me to never bump her grocery basket in the frozen food aisle.

12:06 Thats pretty damn funny....jus sayin
ooohhhhwee! women packin'...it does somethin' for me!
Rage-What is a good gun brand?
I don't like it. It's stupid. It's perpetuated by a false fear of crime.
Even though violent crime is at an all time low, people feel the need to arm themselves in public. SMDH
11:46 There are no Krogers in Oklahoma. All good gun toting citizens know that.
spanish war donkey I own no guns and also am not scared of shit, but knowing dumba-- like you own guns scares the hell out of me.
I am a gun owner (more than 6), but this is stupid.
12:08 there are people who would say 4th generation doesn't make you a native....

Love the caption: "Actual photo." Just in case you thought your were hallucinating...
I mean -- maybe you hunt. That's one kind of gun
Huh. I bet you won't get many dove with a WSM 300.
But hey, arguing from ignorance is pretty common around here (I'm looking over at Wordkyle's posts...), so who's to say you can't do it.

I want to watch open carry in practice at Walmart on Black Friday this year.
If criminal still gets behind you and puts a gun in your back , still wont have time to draw.

Did you ever consider that the reason crime rates are down is because so many are now armed, concealed or otherwise?
How hard would it be to come up behind her, take the gun and use it on her? I think concealed might be safer...
I wanna sekk up behind her and use MY gun on her. She's HOT!

Guns and buns!
