Local news in Waco last night showed the temp was 123 in Temple at 10 p.m. while everywhere else in the surrounding county was in the 80s. Clearly the thermometer was broken.
But let's not expect Drudge to take the time to verify the accuracy of stories...

I couldn't find the Temple story, mainly because a) It was gone; and 2) I was distracted by the "Obama's Absence The Talk Of NAACP Convention" story.
(Incidentally, my east-facing outdoor thermometer often reads 110°+ at 8:30 a.m. this time of year. The direct morning sunlight gets pretty warm for a half hour or so.)

According to the Weather Channel they are in the 80's right now and won't hit the century mark anytime in the next 10 days.
The thermometer at Temple airport went bonkers on Wednesday.
