Did you ever see the look on her face and shaking of her head when reporting on a drunk driving story? It was clear she would not stay with ch 5. But, another station probably will pick her up.
Sad that one little mistake cost her her career. But since management changed at KXAS they have been trying to rid themselves of any trace of the former on air staff. They want New York slick TV, not DFW hick TV. This was a perfect excuse to exercise a morals clause in her contract and dump her without having to pay her off. Finfrock is now the last man standing and you know he's looking over his shoulder for the new guy coming down the network pipe that will soon be knocking him off the air.
Hey, 8:15? I had a guy excercise his right to your Rule #1, and he got to go to jail. He blew (good for him!) and was under. I walked him out the front door, shook his hand, and said, "I wish you'd let me give you the tests on the roadside. Good luck with getting your car out of impound, man. I mean it."
I had another one refuse, and I put enough facts together that he copped a plea on the case I put him to jail for.
I had another refuse, got a warrant, took his blood, and put him in jail. He pled out a few months later.
She was 38% over the legal limit, but it was a "mistake."
A mistake is forgetting your hat.
Still, I'll give her this: she didn't blame others for her actions, and she apologizes for what she did.
I frankly don't see why such a thing should cost her job.
Recall that even Iola Johnson managed a comeback after she fled the police (for speeding!) in a 10 mile pursuit in Argyle back in 1987. She was also arrested for Unlawful Carrying Of A Weapon (a pistol) at the time. Jane will be the toast of the town again in no time. Call that woman a cab!
I believe a .11 could be 2 glasses of wine. Are you actually impaired after just 2 glasses of wine? The limit has been lowered so much that any drink can get you arrested.
I will never understand why people get so attached to newscasters...they are human just like us...stop praising her people...she could have killed someone. Thirty years is long enought...she was looking wrinkled anyway..what an embarassing way to go out...and people are making her feel special...ugh

Because DWI is basically a cash-grab. The High Sheriff has been appointed to collect the taxes and come hell or high water, he' gonna get you every time.
If they really cared, which they don't, but lets pretend... Wouldn't the obvious solution on top of your brilliant comment, be to stop gas stations and truck stops from selling cold singles by the cash register. Who takes those home to drink?
Proponents of DWI laws are either hypocrites or severely misguided. But boy, they sure do feel good about themselves when they rant and rave like a bunch of pious a-holes
8:45 You know. If I were you I would grab all your family and friends and picket every restaurant/bar and such that serves alcohol because it's ALWAYS the fault of someone else that you drink too much.
Hey, and I bet if you people demand hard enough you can get you some free food etc. out of it.
hey 10:51... "mole..liceman" fly away...... ill bet your the 2nd or 3rd little snake under the rug... and seems to me you have a really LARGE chip on your shoulder... me wonders if your shorter than Barry! You little wanna be hitler's are just part of what is tearing this county apart, and i can't STAND you or what you represent!!!

Being a public figure she should be gone.
She knew the rules going in.
We'll miss you Jane. DF Mike Snydlee P.S. Let's hook up
Seems strange, she must be deeply embarresed by this and doesn't want to deal with the public.
A member of the human race accepting responsibility for her actions.........how rare. Most people don't understand this concept.
Even more rare that it is featured in this blog.
If she was a 50 year old over weight white boy......wouldn't see the light of day.
I hope she can make through probation without screwing up since she was unable to follow the rules of the contract while with Channel 5.
I love you Jane. I love you long time.

Hope you lose your job next time you screw up.
A senator can kill a woman and get re-elected over and over, as long as he is Dem. But let a conservative screw up and its off with their heads.
How come you can't plead no contest to DUI in Tarrant County?
Totally agree 3:24 glad to see NBC5 did the right thing and pulled her off the air right away!
4:50, Mary Jo Kopechne was unavailable for comment.
Who says Dems can't mend their ways? Ted Kennedy is still on the wagon. Over two years now without a drink!
NOOOOOOOOOO! Come back Jane!
My Other Brother Darryl
I got a job for her. Not too bad at all.

Rule #1...never participate in any sobriety tests.
And now on to Jane Does Dallas.
Never liked her Cracker $%# anyways.
