Video From The Wreck Yesterday Sent In By Faithful Reader
For as many people who have mailed me about this, I haven't seen one news story. Anyone?
Edit: The Star-Telegram now has a story. Bridgeport woman was killed. Others from Bridgeport and one from Decatur were injured.

That was not a video of the wreck. It was a video of the wreckage.
Is this the Montague County Wreck?
As I understand it, the driver of the van ( mother of passengers) was killed and they had to careflight 5. Bad deal. A friend of my brother-in-law was a firefighter on the scene. Said it was the hardest wreck he ever worked. The kids kept asking if their mom was ok. Used the jaws to extract 6 people. Bad.
As usual I have to get my News from this blog. WC Messenger had no mention of this wreck.
I sure would like to know who was involved. Not even a word about it on the Update
You haven't seen a story about the wreck because it happened on Easter Sunday, and the news reporters were enjoying their day off. News reporters are inherently lazy, and will only cover news that falls into their lap.
Man, that video was riveting! I feel like I know so much more about it now.
The Star Telegram has an article about the wreck with the names of those injured. It's in their local news section with the headline of "Bridgeport Woman killed--7 others injured"
it was in Montague County so why don't you bash their county newspaper instead of the WISE Co messenger

The victims are from Wise County and are related to members of the Messenger staff, which may explain why they have chosen not to report it just yet.
That doesn't stop the Messenger from covering News just inside the Tarrant County line down south. Don't give me that B.S.

They don't hesitate to comment and print pictures when it's one of my family or relitives involved. They get right on it then.
The Messenger has not been the same since that reporter Chris Butler left. Then they sold it, and it got worse. Now the paper carries more canned drama than an episode of Everyone loves Raymond.

Is Montague County now part of Wise County? Last time I checked, the Messenger's name wasn't referenced as Wise/Montague Messenger.
I'm no newspaper related gal but common sense tells me those people over in Decatur report Wise County news not Montague County news. And, if you're so hot fired on other county news being in the WC Messenger someone should have called them at the time of incident and tell them of the big news.
Besides, you people would bitch if they showed any cars etc. of accidents anyway.
I bet if their "world championship cowboy" was involved in an accident in BFE county they'd find a way to cover it!

Its nice to see stories about guys like Trevor here in Wise Co. It lets kids know they can grow up to be something other than a meth monkey,white trash, or oilfield trash that seems to be the largest populus of this fine place! Wise = where incest seems everywhere or where intellegince seldom exist!

Freedom of the press..Should use a little discretion. They have no clue what trauma this causes to those family members left behind when they have these pictures posted all over the news and paper. I know it sells. But have a little compassion. The pain these pictures and videos cause is something no one wants to relive. And...they do over and over in their dreams!!!! It is a picture that is never ever forgotten no matter how hard you try! Compassion..a word this world has lost the meaning of! If it were their own would they want that picture posted just to sell papers? And You posting video is no different! One day you may be in this position then would you be posting online or in the news??? You all make me sick!

I dont know if the Messenger realizes it or not, but the Young Man they did a story on about a year ago (or so?!)Bryan Kirkland and this Charles Kirkland are one and the same. His name is Charles Bryan Kirkland. Wonder if they will make the connection?!
The article they wrote on this guy originally and his 14 year old pregnant girlfriend (yes 14)was not real flattering.
For those messenger haters out there:
First, the Messenger listens to the scanners. When I was a reporter there someone had "scanner duty" at home and responded to after hours stuff. However, if this was in Montague County their scanners wouldn't have anything about it because the scanner is only set for Wise County. As far as not liking wreck pictures in the paper, no one said they only cover good news. They cover what goes on in the county, good or bad!

What was it? two miles into Montaque county, at the most? Give me a break! They cover news all the time at the Denton and Tarrant county line. Just admit the Messenger was caught sleeping at the wheel. Why all the excuses?

I just hope they do a drug/alcohol test on the young man in the other vehicle. If anyone gave a crap they could read the story done on this young man a year ago in the WCM and see he went to prison for a parole violation of testing positive for marijuana on a random drug test performed when he went to report to his Probation officer.

Any Update on the people who survuced the wreck?! I see the woman who died is still pending in the Update?!
12:26 The husband involved in the wreck is still in the hospital in a trauma unit, the 2 children were released a week or so later, the other man was released the same day of the accident and the other lady is in another facility being treated for her injurys.
They just stated in the Update that the Young man that caused the wreck is being charged with Manslaughter. And that they did a Drug and Alcohol Test but they havent released the results. I know his passenger is a well known drug offender and even went to prsion for drugs and violation of probation.
