VEHICLE STRIKES BICYCLE – A 28-year-old male on a bicycle was flown to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth this morning when he was struck by a motor vehicle on the Runaway Bay bridge around 7 a.m. More information will be posted as it is available at WCMessenger.com.

My guess is the bicylist was wearing head phones, did not hear the car coming and turning in front of the car. Or, the car driver was drunk, or half blind and misjudged how close the bike was to the white shoulder line.
Hope he is okay.

So, now we know. Car driver was blinded by the sun and did not see the bicylist. See what I mean, bicylist can't go 50 MPH, so they need to keep off the highway. Freaking idiots..driving below the speed limit is very dangerous on two lanes, especially blind hills.

i enjoy riding my bike in front of all the johnny punchclock dually drivers and watching them get all pissed off - knowing that if they ever tried to do anything about it i would knock their out of shape *ss the f*ck out.

Cyclists have just as much right to the road as automobiles. Those who ride bikes continues to growin numbers each year. For those who don't really like bikes on the road, there is not one damn thing you can do about it. All this country bumpkin bad*ss talk about running us over is just a bunch of talk. I have been riding on roads for 20+ years, haven't been hit once. And I have yet to have one of you dumb*sses tell me to get off the road (without driving AWAY from me). Who's the a-hole now, 4:06?
3:58 and 4:06 Next time you encounter a cyclist on "your" roads, why don't you pull over, get out, and tell the cyclist that they need to get out of the road and that you were the person who was gonna make it happen.
