I've lived in decatur for ten years and couldn't tell you where new fairview is. I just happened upon Newark the other day (Crap hole BTW) and apparently its pronounced "new ark". Also, why are we saying "avoid" when there is an obvious letter "r"?
I've heard it pronounced as new-Ark, instead of new-erk. Shouldn't that be two words? They probably do that to distinguish themselves from that other one way up north. Like anybody would confuse the two of them...
And the reason it sounds like "avoid" I believe, is because the natives put the stress on the first syllable. But I doubt you'll get a consensus on the correct pronunciation. Most of the rest of us call it Al-void - usually just to annoy them
Maybe we do deserve a Bum Steer Award - but not for almost burning down a fire station. It would be for some clown setting off a bottle rocket that close to the fire station thinking he could get away with it. Or - maybe for calling it Station 26. Are there twenty-five other fire stations in New Fairview that get mistaken for this...one?
It's ok if you use creek water and meth chemicals to wash your dishes. You are not being judged. I even showed interest in moving to your area. Maybe you could show me the ropes..... you know... city-wide garage sale shopping and water tower graffiti. No, you're right, it's far from a dump.

Or you're one of those people that don't look at any signs on the sides of the road...like the New Fairview city limits signs that are on the north bound and south bound lanes. You're probably also one of those that get pulled over for speeding, then use the argument that there was no speed limit sign.
