Verdict

Edit: Star-Telegram's story today which includes this:

"Wise County Sheriff David Walker, who is [victim] Richter's brother-in-law, said the trial was difficult on his wife and other members of the family, but they never lost faith.

"I deal with this in my law enforcement career and it bothers you, but there is nothing worse than sitting next to your wife and looking at crime scene photos in a trial," he said.

"The family said prayers two or three different times, and I think it was the good Lord's help that helped the jury decide. It's been a long time coming, and it gives the family some closure and will let them start moving again.

Why in the world did the Wise County Messenger insert a picture of the 8-year-old daughter of Tammie Jo Chaffee? There ought to be a law against posting pictures of minors without permission.

an eye for an eye i say...

Well a little surprised....guess that takes all the shiny enamel off the TV movie or mystery show.

An eye for an eye and soon we would all be blind.

Ummm....I read the original article from the Ft Worth Star Telegram and it stated the two victims met at a womens shelter. I find that odd.

If my husband ran Wise County, I'm quite certain my sister wouldn't have to go to a homeless shelter for help.

Bizarre.

Are you saying soon we will all murder someone? Or can you find the will power to live with morals?

Kind of funny that Barry didn't give his two cents about this case and the verdict. Sucking up to our local king of sucking up in this case I guess. Barry only bashes certain folks and holds his tongue when it best serves himself. No hot sports opinions on this one skippy???

11:45, possibly that picture will help in finding that little girl a satisfactory, loving home and will help put her mother away for the psycho that she is!! Evidence to prove what kind of mother she is to put her little girl through seeing the horror of her mother running over a man who was trying to walk away. I'm very glad the Messenger took the picture.

Apparently you don't read the blog regularly. BSG has posted plenty of comments on the Granbury story.

He even posted your stupid comment, plus, never forget, it is his blog. If you have an opinion you want to share, start your own damn blog.

Why don't you go post that on the Messenger website?
Oh, wait, they publish your name with comments, and everyone would see that you are either a Messenger employee, or married to one.

5:53 I agree with the local king sucking up part, but not in this case. This may bring him down to everyone elses level a little. Crime has no boundaries.

7:37 I don't think our sheriff needs to be brought down to our level. I don't know him personally; but, I have read enough and heard enough to be of the opinion that he does not hold himself above us in any way. He is doing a good job for us. I'm glad this part of the healing is over for his family.
