When does the new place open?

Anonymous said...

WOW - Looks like Mi Cocina...certainly not something in Bridgeport.

That picture of The Virgin Mary in a uterus is absolutely gorgeous.

Does anyone else notice that the picture of the Virgin Mary in the bottom pic looks a wee bit odd?

Silicone Alley said...

That looks way too high tone for Bport.

Anonymous said...

Where is the new location?

Anonymous said...

Casillas has much better food.

Anonymous said...

Where is it.

Anonymous said...

For being such a nice facility... They still have the silverwear wrapped in the same cheap ol' white napkins... I guess no matter how good you have it, you just cant shake the curse of being a Wise Countian

Anonymous said...

321 are you crazy. I ate at casillas the other day. I cant stand the food.

Anonymous said...

More fat food for more fat Wise County residents. Go ahead and plug your arteries. Look at the physiques of ethnic groups whose primary diet is this crap. Look at their life expectancy. I hate the rancid smell of Mexican food.

Anonymous said...

"That picture of The Virgin Mary in a uterus is absolutely gorgeous."

Eeewwwww! Who wants to look at that while eating.

Anonymous said...

Across the street from the previous location, to the west

"A Virgin Mary in a uterus" IN AN EATING ESTABLISHMENT?

Anonymous said...

wow. hands-down the nicest place in bridgeport now. sorry pizza hut.

You may call me Your Majesty. In fact, I insist. said...

LMAO 4:33, that's priceless

Anonymous said...

I have seen my uterus and it looks nothing like that.

Anonymous said...

Don't really care what it looks like! Can't stand the food---got sick everytime I ate there! Not going back!

Anonymous said...

3:37. This food is fine in moderation.

I could go eat there and still kick your ass in the marathon.

Anonymous said...

Look like the First Church of Tex-mex

Anonymous said...

Will they be taking off the next Mexican national day to protest our immigrations policy like they did on the last one?

Anonymous said...

I bet Stephen York will never eat here.

RPM said...

The food there is great. I like Casillas', too. Each has their own hits and misses.

The new place also has a cantina.

I spent three hours yesterday afternoon in 100+ degree heat watching a Mexican League baseball game in Ft. Worth. There were a total of six games (2 fields), and each game lasted about three hours. I didn't see anyone playing who seemed hampered by "physiques of ethnic groups whose primary diet is this crap."

Anonymous said...

Casa Vato in Decatur still has better food. Throw down with Casa Vato and Two Chiles on food network would be good. Someone call Bobby Flay.

Anonymous said...

Neither the Virgin Mary nor her Son ever touched the junk they put in Mexican food. It was against their religion.

Anonymous said...

I'll bet 6:43 was not driving a rock truck ten years ago like my buddy Joe was.WAY TO GO JOE AND ALMA.DAGO

Anonymous said...

The king of all mexican food is Crazy Pablos in Paradise

Anonymous said...

It is beautiful. I hope they do well in their new location.

Anonymous said...

Well, guess Mexican food will go up to pay property taxes on that baby. The old place had charm. The new place has pazazz. Will we have to have reservations now to get in?

Anonymous said...

they need to cook tjeir tortias longer taste doughy

Anonymous said...

Who cares how fancy the place is if the chicken fajitas are horrible and give you major gas. Cap and Tax should fine places like this to save the planet from global warming. If cattle get Cap and Tax, humans should not have a free pass or free gas!

Never going back there.

Anonymous said...

5:47 - never have gotten sick at Dos Chilies, but had the absolutely worst case of food poisoning in my life at Subway in Bridgeport. Never will we eat there again.

It may be fresh, but it's deadly.

Anonymous said...

Casa Torres needs a new, bigger place.....

Anonymous said...

best tortillas in the county

Anonymous said...

This looks like Gloria's.

Very nice Bridgeport.

Anonymous said...

You idiotic health nuts are missing out on one of life's greatest pleasures....Mexican food. Temperance and balance in ALL things is the way to go. You learn that as you age and gain a wise perspective on life.

I wonder why the architect couldn't make up his mind what to use on the exterior?

Anonymous said...

7:28 YOU ARE A MORON!!!!
It’s the same ingredients everywhere!

Anonymous said...

10:06, I was just stating a fact that Jesus did not break Jewish law and eat pork or fat. His Father, the ultimate physician, said not to eat it. God did not lay down dietary rules to create an obstacle course to prove adherence to a religion but to provide his followers a guide to healthy eating. Modern medicine realizes that he was right. A piece of art showing the Virgin Mary is out of place sitting in front of tables where people dine on animal fat and pork.

Anonymous said...

Wonder just who selected the artwork? Not sure I get the connection of Virgin Mary in a restaurant.

What's the connection with food?

Anonymous said...

Absolutely beautiful!!
Thanks for doing your part to make Wise County a better place

Anonymous said...

That's not a uterus, it's a vaginky with teeth.

Anonymous said...

food has gotten to high. service has bottomed out. i really really liked the place but a few years back it started going down hill in both price and service and i dont think a new building helps with either of those. someone needs to tell the owner to actually watch the horrible service his staff provides...

Anonymous said...

Casa Vato in Decatur?????? never heard of it.

Seems like old restaurants that have humble beginnings and then go for the high dollar "new place" end up serving crappy food and go bankrupt. Dos Chilies should have stayed right where they were and continued to put their money into their food, not into a "new shiny place." Mark my words..... place will be out of business within 2 years because the food just won't be as good anymore.

Anonymous said...

I ate there yesterday and the food was good, service was good and the atmosphere was better than anywhere in Wise County. For those of you predicting doom and gloom, go outside and kick a dog or somethin. Better yet, why not wish everyone well and enjoy life? Anyone who says or writes "mark my words" is a pompous asshole that no one wants to be around.

Anonymous said...

Do they serve possum taco's there? If they don't I aint eatin there.

Anonymous said...

food is usually pretty good for a descent price. but service does suck. especially if you get food to go. the hispanic hostess will sit over there talking to her friends and just ignore you for a good five minutes while your food is in plain sight behind the checkout.

Anonymous said...

virgin mary pic is freaky and not needed in a restaurant setting. but overall not bad...

Anonymous said...

Does anyone remember when he started out at Trammelville on 380?

Anonymous said...

Im with 12:26- the place looks awesome! Props to Joel & Alma for living out their dream.---There will always be haters who have nothin better to do but try to bring people down.

Anonymous said...

Really 12:26? I think your post is as much your own opinion as is 11:53's post.

Why should your opinion be more "politically correct?"

I believe the poster was stating that this seems to be the pattern with restaurants that want to go the high dollar place, and predicts this one will do the same. Why don't YOU get off your own high horse! Everyone is entitled to their opinion and has a right to state each. I happen to think YOU are the pompous asshole who can't even have discussions with others because they might have a different opinion than you do.

I guess we'll just wait and see if the "mark my words" poster's prediction comes to be. Right?

Anonymous said...

10:38, you are a total and complete idiot. Those "dietary laws" were laid down to protect the people BACK THEN. THEY DIDN'T HAVE REFRIGERATION OR MODERN SANITATION! Geesh...people who try to legalize words in a book aimed at a society thousands of years ago to claim we shouldn't eat mexican foods really don't deserve to breathe air!

Anonymous said...

Besides, the Virgin Mary always appears on an old building in some small village in central Mexico...I always understood this was a sign that God was now down with a good Mexican food porkin'! Get them enchiladas greasy baby!

STEVEN said...

I WOULD LIKE TO RESPOND TO ANONYMOUS 3:37 --I WOULD THINK IF YOU ARE SO PERFECT THAT YOU WOULD PUT YOUR NAME,ADDRESS,PHONE#,AND A PICTURE SHOWING HOW PERFECT YOU ARE. I JUST WISH WE COULD ALL BE AS SMART AS YOU ARE.

Anonymous said...

rename it "dos pukies"

Anonymous said...

i love dos chiles and cassillas.

Anonymous said...

12:26 - I agree with you - It's never fun or enlightening to hear what comes after: "Mark my words......"

Anonymous said...

1:19, You are the idiot. Beef will spoil just as pork will without refrigeration. The meat of pigs was "unclean". That meant unhealthy, dirty, or filthy. The pig grease in Mexican food will plug your arteries today just as it would the arteries of the Children of Isreal 2,000 years ago. Lard is lard. I've noticed that Walmart has a large supply of lard on hand for the illegals.

Anonymous said...

Actually lard has no trans fats, or lets say a lot less than vegetable oil.

Anonymous said...

6:59 its called casa Tores and it totally kicks ass

Anonymous said...

2:48, sorry I am not stupid enough to give you my phone number or address. I will tell you how to be as smart as I am: (1) go to college for 6 years, (2) study what foods are tied to hardening of the arteries and (3) look for the section of Walmart that has the lard and observe the physical charactericts of the people who buy it. (4) If you find these people to be attractive then go out and eat plenty of Mexican food and you can be smart and look like people who eat pig fat.

Anonymous said...

6:24
I completed college in 4 years. So I guess I did not have to read the rest of your answer because I am already smarter than you.

The Donald said...

The architecture looks like it was by the same designer as Solana, or perhaps influenced by same...

WISE COUNTY WHITE TRASH

6:42 - you sound angry. Try eating more Mexican food. Fat folks are usually jolly.

Anonymous said...

My husband ate there yesterday. Had a $5.95 entree, drank water. The waiter put the tab on the table, my husband put a $20 bill and the waiter took it. Came back, laid the change down and LEFT. The change was $11.45. There was no receipt, no thank you, how was your food, NOTHING.
Big MISTAKE, Big TIP, Big RIPOFF???? I guess that I will not ever see the "Virgin Mary in the uterus" art. Service and friendliness is better at Casillas.
I hope they enjoy their new building.

Anonymous said...

2:48 So why oh why did it take you such a long time in college? All of the smart people do it 3 or 4 years. I also thought I would let you know I don't really think that anyone would want your address----especially if it took you 6 years to go to college. We need people that can think fast on their feet.

Anonymous said...

4:09 He charged you for a drink and if you do the tax you would get back $11.45 so I guess your idea of a BIG TIP is $2.00 go to Casillas we don't want your tight ass anyway.

Anonymous said...

4:36, bachelor's degree while working 40 hours per week, Army, and then masters degree. No scholarships, no parent to help, just work and go to class. I did get help the last two years from the GI Bill. If I did not have to work so many hours and if my education was not interrupted by the military, then I would have been able to get through quicker. Smart is not school or college but what you do with the knowledge that you gain there, such as studying biology and relating that knowledge to food and health. I do know what animal fat does to human arteries so I avoid it.

Anonymous said...

5:14
How much is a drink there????
He drank WATER, do they charge $5.00 for a glass of WATER?
We have always tipped well if we get the service and I tip what I want to, not what they ADD.

Anonymous said...

He made a mistake he charged you $5.95 plus $1.95 for the drink that he thought you had purchased, he must have forgot it was water. If you can do the math $5.95 plus $1.95 plus tax...your change would be $11.45. So please don't shoot him----- it was a simple mistake, who knows how many you have made..................

STEVEN said...

IS THIS SOME KIND OF RECORD FOR COMMENTS?????????????

Anonymous said...

11:38 Too many simple mistakes like that will lose business. And I never said that I did not make mistakes. At Casillas' I have never been charged for my water, the staff is courteous and attentative and make change correctly.

Anonymous said...

I have been reading the comments and to 11:38 CAN YOU NOT TALK????? did you think about saying I think you charged me for a drink that I did not get... NO you had rather bitch about it on a blog --give us a break.
