He saved the county and the state alot of money, probably the only good thing (besides not killing his own daughter) he ever did in his sorry life.
I worked with this guy at American. He was actually a very normal guy and totally out of character.
Tensions are high with the union contracts being negotiated and mix that in with personal problems ...
I feel for him and his victims. May the Lord forgive him.
Chicken Little and the TWU "without further ratification" paycuts screwed this guy financially. AA has had a few employees commit suicide because of it.

If you vote NO be a man/woman and STRIKE. Do not talk trash then chicken out and settle for the second offer (which has been historically worse EVERY TIME).

Wow...this has to be an eerie too-close-to-home story for you. Kinda like that recently tagged Child Molester with the trains in his back yard in Keller. I've been in that yard....
I hate to hear about the AA troubles; that company has seen nothing but heartache since 9-11. Those not in the Top Seats in the corporation, that is. =(
Work problems? Please. Millions have worse problems. Exactly how is someone being "screwed" by being given a good job?
to 10:24 - You should be thankful that you have a job with AA at all!!..... In the early 70's, I worked for a union company that decided to strike, even tho I was in management at the time of the strike it got so ugly that while the union employees were walking the picket line, 100's of workers(mostly day laborers) showed up and begin to disassemble the factory while scores and scores of 18 wheelers were loaded to haul the complete operation back to it's original site up north where the company had originated, don't think for a moment that it can't happen!!! You should have seen the looks on the employees faces!! The whole plant,except the buildings was shut down and moved within 10 days!!.
10:24 there is no picket line with the TWU. Their too busy making new slogans on their signs and t -shirts with the fangless snake on them in the new hall that was voted down by their members, yet approved and built anyway by the officers and renting coffins to parade around T-Town.

AA almost killed my Mom - she worked for them for 30 years. She's still alive, and I am emptying her bedpan frequently on a daily basis. We used to love that company, but when all the Yanks moved their headquarters down to Amon Carter, and they started that AMR crapola, things changed rapidly.
I did love flying all over the world with her when I was a pre-teen. Those were the days - it was a flagship US company. I can't use the free passes these days because I have to stay here on the farm and take care of her, not that I have any desire to travel these days, what with all the homeland security and bubbas flying these days.
I must say she has not received back, in any shape, form or fashion what she put into that company, or what she was promised.
Thank goodness my dad is still alive - we converted her crappy AA insurance to Tri-Care, otherwise, they would be living in a crappy trailer house near Boyd.
The corporate greed mongers who currently run AMR can kiss my happy a$$. I wouldn't kill my family members and myself because of them, though.
I hate when people say (and there's always at least one random person who says it) "he was such a normal guy, this is totally out of character". Here's a quick reality check - you don't truly know anyone you work with. People don't typically let it be known to their co-workers that they have murderous intentions. In fact, work is the #1 place where people put up a front and lie about how great their lives are. Well, maybe #2... after church. I'll bet this guy went to church too. How long until his pastor is on t.v. telling people how out of character this was.....
You are so right, Annie. Just this morning I had to tell one of my customers, who's equal in another official position was causing a stink and creating huge problems, "Well, no one in MY family has ever blanked someone". I said blanked, they said MURDERED......and yep, someone in the biatcher's family had actually murdered someone. The murderer's family member gets no respect now, even though they are "an important person in their own eyes". I know that sounds convoluted, but the murderer probably murdered someone because of the a$$hole parent.....we're just wondering when the a$$hole parent is gonna go off the deep end. It's sadly funny when you can see it potentially happening. Usually, it just broadsides you, like this situation did.
Oh, I have seen the pastor on TV - I'm sure they are expecting their visitor numbers to rise after this. They've probably already ordered extra collection plates.....but it's all about the little kiddo now, you know?
