Just blew past The Rifleman as I was channel surfing. Man, I loved that show as a kid.
But as I stuck around for about 10 minutes to watch Lucas gun down a bad guy (who was trying to steal a body in order to collect money as a bounty hunter - a very odd premise), I wondered: Has there ever been a man kill more people in self-defense than Lucas McCain? Ninety-nine percent of us will never have that experience, but Lucas killed somebody every week. All justified in the eyes of the law.

Barry- if the damn Democrats were in control you'd never have a chance to shoot someone in self defense 'cause they'd take all our guns (New York, Chicago and DC come to mind. Be a victim, vote Democrat!
That was the old west. In those days you could hunt down a guy that wronged you some way and kill him on the spot. It didn't matter if he killed your brother or cheated at cards or stole your horse. And by the way, amen about the comment by the other guy about the democrats taking away all of our rights, including the right to have a firearm.

Who cares if he was gay?! The Rifleman was awesome. Mark was a Wimpette, but his Pa rocked. Every Saturday at 1:00, I was tuned in....
Lucas was awesome up until he missed the mountain lion that was after Mark. He never missed an armed gunmen, but you get a little "pussy" involved and he just fell apart!
