This morning a little boy was killed running for a bus, this afternoon a kid in his 20s was killed in a motorcycle wreck, and last weekend someone threw a tire jack through the windshield of a moving ambulance causing a paramedic to suffer head injuries.

Any tragedies like this on the highway within Rhome city limits in recent weeks? Yet, Rhome is "evil" and a bunch of "Nazis" for doing whatever it takes to make their part of the highway a little safer. Highways and speed limits are designed to account for lines of sight, stopping times, acceleration times, etc.. Speeders compress those factors into risky situations, and people get killed. But shame on Rhome for probably saving a life (we'll never know because you can't witness something that doesn't happen) at some point the past couple months.

First of all, if there are any KIDS crossing 287/114, their parents should SUE the NWISD!
SPEEDERS COMPRESS THOSE FACTORS INTO RISKY SITUATIONS!
Second, the school that this child goes to should have the EVIL, RHOME NAZI'S PATROLLING THEIR SCHOOL ZONES.! with THEIR CAMERAS!
SPEEDERS COMPRESS THOSE FACTORS INTO RISKY SITUATIONS!!!
THIRD! RHOME DOES WHAT THEY DO FOR $$$. NOT FOR KIDS OR THE SAFETY OF OTHERS. OTHERWISE YOU'D SEE THOSE CAMERA'S NEAR THE LIQUOR STORES AND THE SCHOOLS!
FOURTH AND FINAL FINAL POINT!
DON'T RIDE A MOTORCYCLE AND EXPECT OTHERS TO LOOK OUT FOR YOU! THEY JUST DON'T!!!!!!!
I FORGOT ABOUT THE JACK;
As for the JACK. Well, whoever threw that JACK into the windsheild of that AMBULANCE. They'd better hope that their PARENTS SHIP THEM OFF TO CANADA BEFORE I GET THEM.!
BUT THEN AGAIN! YOU'RE DEALING WITH TWO COUNTIES THAT HAVE A HISTORY OF METH!
WHEN WILL WISE COUNTY LEARN?
YOUR NOW DEALING WITH THE METH-HED BABIES THAT WERE BORN IN YEARS PAST? PARENTS, CHILDREN, COUSINS AND SO ON!
METH BABY/ AKA METH HEAD BABIES
DEFINITION;
PRODUCT OF ENVIRONMENT.
BORN OF A PARENT/PARENTS THAT HAVE INHALED, INJECTED OR BOTH. ONE OR BOTH PARENTS, UNCLE, AUNT, COUSIN COOKED METH IN A REMOTE/RURAL AREA IN WISE COUNTY/OTHER COUNTIES.
WILL RUN SMALL CHILDREN DOWN,THROW TIRE TOOLS INTO WINDSHIELDS OF MOVING OR NON MOVING VEHICLES AND GET AWAY WITH IT.
I REST MY CASE!
The paramedic that was injured was is a close friend of mine. We graduated fire academy together. As a fire fighter paramedic myself I see this as a huge slap in the face(no pun intended)for public servents in that area. This job is stressfull, and dangerous enough without random acts of violence targetting us. I know that if you kill a public servent on duty, that's capitol murder, but since the paramedic didn't die I wonder if the charges press against the suspect will be greater than if he attack a civilian.
Why is the life of a public official worth more than a "civilian"?
To 10:56 PM--yes, it is an assault on a public servant in performance of their duties, so it "aggravates" the offense. What a jerk you have to be to do something like that to medical personnel!
First thing is that the cameras in Rhome are there for the money. If they were there to save lives then they would advertise the fact that cameras are watching you and not to speed. It is hard to save a life or slow down when a majority of the people traveling the interstate have no idea they will get a ticket in the mail. Yes almost everyone in Wise County knows that the cameras are there but only b/c it has been such a hot button issue. Most of the people will only know when they get their ticket in the mail.
Secondly I understand what Anon 8:31 is trying to point out. I have a family member who is a firefighter/paramedic and has been for a long time and he is always bringing it up in conversation. For example it will be "well he is a firefighter so call him to do it." I don't understand why they think they are more important or should be given special treatment. They choose their occupation like anyone else does and although they do a brave job it doesn't mean they should be looked at any different. It just blows my mind...
why would anyone make a stupid assumption that the school district would allow students to cross such a busy highway? that's my job - to make sure that doesn't happen. what an ignorant comment.
