Looks like from the screenshot posted that the Johnson County story is the most prominent. Sad to see that story even there to be reported. My Prayers go out to the family.
On the web page itself, it's clear the boy's story is top billing. And, notice that "most recent" is selected as the order of view, which also impacts the display. It is totally inaccurate to imply the Star Telegram believes Cowboys kicker is more important. It's a function of the web page, timing of the news, and the viewers option to see things in order of release.
