"Hot Button" my ass. These people are protesting to protest ILLEGAL immigration. I'm all for a simplified Work Visa program so they can come get jobs no one here will do, but LEGALLY. This is nuts and actually threatens sovereignty issues. If the pols bow to this crap, we're in deep doodoo. Build the fence and shoot anyone crossing illegally. Damn!!
I hope they March April 1st at the Wise County Court House ...

And you wonder why our Welfare, Social Security and Social Services will be depleted, probably, in my lifetime......If you can't get a job legally, you shouldn't have it and the US government should not be responsible for caring for them.
I agree with bigm, "hot button my a$$". And I AM HISPANIC. This is getting if not already out of control. I ain't saying nothing, but I'm saying, what do we do when foreign aircraft invade our airspace? Or a foreign ship invades our waters? I'm not saying nothing, I'm just saying...

Recently I listened to Sherriffs along the border testify before Congress regarding incidents along the border. It seems the drug cartel has moved along the border into Mexico moving drugs into our country. There is no control and it is very dangersous.
Also, many illegals are from other countries crossing along the Mexican border.
All the high school kids who marched need a lesson in civics and history.
There is no place in our Country for any other flag than our stars and stripes. No room for the Mexican flag.
When immigrants come to our country they should become Americans and learn to speak English.
Those ideas are from Theodore Roosevelt.
But business wanted cheap labor, housekeepers, baby sitters, day laborers.
No political party had the foresight to step up to the plate to address the problem. The solution was simple, a work visa enforced.
All those who came are here and will become politically active.
It is the political hot button issue of 2006 and for years to come.
Somehow, the border must be controlled. No country can stay a democracy when their borders are out of control.
Latino leaders can be a part of the solution. President Bush can put pressure on Fox to control the drug cartel, create jobs for the Mexican people. Mexico doesn't tolerate their borders being out of control.
A lot of $$$$or being sent back to Mexico every day at the Post Office. Are those dollars being taxed or is their an underground econocmy? Sure there is. A lot of day laborers don't have green cards. Some who do have fake ones and have someone elses social security numbers.
Texas has more hispanics than any other race. When they become voters and go vote, they will rule in Austin. The protest march in California and Georgia are a sign of what is to come. They are a powerful political force.

6:24 said it ....when they all become voters we will have to learn to speak spanish....Close the borders good gosh it is already like little mexico on construction sites. Cheap labor equals cheap products and that is what most new home construction is..

Hey, if we keep sending our jobs down to Mexico we won't need to round them up and send them back. They will be rushing down there for the jobs. There won't be any here.
Congress is years too late in controlling our borders. I think we should check the papers on all who are marching.
Ya'll should rent the DVD "A Day Without A Mexican" - I agree we need better control, but geeezzzzz, we'd ALL be suffering if they just magically disappeared one day.

The construction sites are filled with Mexican people b/c they are not afraid to work. The solution is to control the employers who take advantage of the tax implications. They are willing to do the jobs our drug addicted family members aren't.(every family has one)It is a myth to think that they work cheap b/c they have finally figured out what they are worth. Have you tried to hire one lately?? The govt. needs to figure out a way to make them pay taxes for the social services we are providing them and mainly their children.
