I went to a New Year's Eve party last night in a home in Trophy Club. The hostess was a gal I went out with, get this, fourteen years ago.
She's now married, has three gorgeous kids, and lives in a wonderful house.
She should thank me we broke up with one another. I could have screwed all that up for her.

Barry you know we just love giving you a hard time, but we all know you are real soft hearted we just have to get through the skin first. I don't think for one minute you would have screwed that up for her!!!!If she had you she probably wouldn't have wanted kids anyway!!
Maybe you just never called her again? And for that, she should thank you..... You seem to have a problem with "relationships" with "real people"...and who knows how that one really ended. She obviously moved on...(her choice/your choice/does not matter) and she is probably thanking God everytime that she sees you/thinks of you that she did.

Double Ouch. In fact, that was just downright mean. And, I beg to differ...I would think that since she wanted Barry around (I believe social code still requires an invite FROM the said hostess), she continues to care for and appreciate the guy.

Barry was just such a rabid demon in the sack that she just couldn't help but want him around every once in awhile...
It could be worse, you could live in Trophy Club.
Who would want to marry a liberal lawyer? She thought no way would I want my kids growing up in that house!

I'm coming in on this one a little late, but dang. I know it's a sarcastic comparison...liberal and terrorist, but seriously! Who wouldn't want an intelligent, educated, successful lawyer in the family? Are you people nuts? I think it's cool Barry is still friends with a past flame...hard to do, and a commendable feat.
I don't even know Barry but I'd suggest he's a mite better than most terrorists. And being invited by an old flame is one thing, but actually showing up shows some confidence on both parts. I think Wise Co could use a little more of this enlightenment.
Lol, Barry...I also ended up seeing my ex from High School at my brother's New Year's Eve Party and I must say it was a little awkward but had a real nice conversation with his wife! My hubby was a little jealous...drank more beer and got over it!
I'm thankful I didn't end up marrying my ex!
