Hate to see a team lose when the winning shot was scored after 6 - 7 steps without a dribble. But as I always told my own kids: make sure the score's not close enough to let something like that decide the game.

I agree...I guess they don't call walking anymore.

Up by 2, I understand the desire to get the ball away from the baseline where opposition scores, but to not have a sure handed pass was not a good decision.

and that was definitely a travel

As an ex basketball official anyone should have seen the walk or should I say hop. for the officials not to call it was pretty gutless but I understand under the circumstances they did not want to be the villain. To bad for the red team. Hopefully the officials will be reviewed and reprimanded for not making the call. I know they are human but they are supposed to be the best or they wouldn't be there at a state title game

Same guy missed two free throws right before that. This was his "redemption"

Basketball officials seldom call walking in years. They also seldom call palming the ball when dribbling. It is a far different game now than it was when I was a kid.

THE OFFICIAL RULES:

(1) Upon picking up your dribble, the white Player must establish a "pivot" foot which must remain in contact with the floor at all times.

(2) Upon picking up your dribble, the black Player is allowed up to 3 steps (5 steps when dunking).

The fact that the kid remembered to dribble while landing is the most amazing part, to avoid the travel call. Other angles show it clearly.

Everyone here commenting that it was a travel might want to look harder, and at other clips from other angles.

You're reading from an old rule book. In the newer edition, everyone is black. Even the whites.
