The Final Total: 2012 Box Office Winners

It would appear that fantasy films are a big player.  This is not your father's Hollywood any more.

Complete list.

I saw one of those (Batman). Just rented it, though.

I did not significantly contribute to Hollywood's big year.

Hollywood!
Now there is a culture of violence responsible for extreme imagery in the minds of children.

Just further confirmation that, at 37, I am completely out of touch with pop culture. The only movie on that list that even remotely could be targeted toward my demo is Ted, a movie about an f'ng talking teddy bear. Last time I got suckered into something like that, Mel Gibson had his hand so far up a beaver's arse that Jody Foster couldn't save him.

Hollywood isn't out of ideas, they have just perfected a money machine that gives it no reason to pump out anything new.

Sadly, I have been reduced to watching shows about d-bags making duck calls and shooting alligators for a living. There is just nothing out there for the middle aged man.

Well, I only saw "Ted". Guess I am not conributing much, either.

Ted was so f#%&ing funny, especially the fight scene in the motel room when Marky Mark grabbed the floor lamp . . . . Oops, uh, spoiler alert.

The Dark Knight Rises was the best movie, and it would have made a lot more money were it not for the Colorado shooting.

Sadly, the liberals refuse to let us lock up all the dangerous, crazy people. They only want to take away all the guns from the law-abiding citizens.

The Jackal.

My father's Hollywood consisted of Star Wars, Close Encounters, etc....
