HOW MANY PERSONAL FAIL PENALTIES CAN A TEAM HAVE AND THE COACHES DO NOTHING ABOUT THE PLAYERS COMMITTING THOSE PENALTIES? THE SAME PLAYERS COMMITTING THE SAME PENALTIES GAME IN AND GAME OUT. ANOTHER LOSS THAT CAN BE DIRICTLY CONNECTED TO THESE PENALTIES. NO DISICPLINE AND BAD COACHING. 3RD AND 15, WHY ARE THE SAFETIES ONLY PLAYING 7 YARDS OFF THE BALL? AND YES, THEY GOT BEAT DEEP FOR A 60 YARD TD PASS. ARE WE EVER GOING TO PLAY DEFFENSE? CONGRATULATIONS KRUM AND GOOD LUCK IN THE PLAYOFFS. IF WE MAKE IT, IT WILL BE ONE AND DONE. ONE PLAYOFF VICTORY SINCE 2005. THAT SAYS IT ALL.

Wise County O-fer.

Does Krum have turf?

Anonymous said...

DUMB PEOPLE TYPE IN ALL CAPS FOR NO REASON!!!

Anonymous said...

IT WAS 3RD AND 25 NOT 15 SO IT EVEN MAKES LESS SENCE. LETS NOT PLAY DEEP. WE WOULD HAVE BEEN WITHIN 6 POINTS AT THAT POINT. ONE OF THE PLAYERS WAS KICKED OFF THE TEAM LAST NIGHT FOR HIS PLAY IF ANYTHING GOOD CAN COME FROM THIS. HOPEFULLY WE WILL HAVE FEWER PERSONAL FAILS AFTER THIS.

Anonymous said...

This is the same DHS team that was never a winning team since freshman year. Yes it's time for a shake up of coaching staff. but don't even start with the turf crap.

And that one playoff victory was in '05

Anonymous said...

I know what a personal foul is in football but what is a personal fail??? Just proves you should be a spectator and not comment on something you know nothing about.

Anonymous said...

I need the definition of "PERSONAL FAILS".

Krum has a very young program, good job Bobcats. Kyle Story is a good individual doing the best he can under the circumstances.
1. No Turf
2. Not enough Coaches

I figured with 3 of the no votes from the last turf election gone they would have it by now....

I am happy about the win and our beautiful 8-0, undefeated record. I didn't get to go to the game, though. Why do people think I'm a good candidate to watch their children? And why don't I say no more often?

I don't understand the question about the turf.

Anonymous said...

As a DHS parent the current status of the football program is an embarrassment. The good kids are getting tired of the tolerance of the bad behavior, personal fouls, and craziness of the coaches. As long as the coach allows this to occur, we won't win and the good kids will continue to walk away from the sport. Personally I like the coach, but it is time for a change. The program is too divisive in our community and when the conversation in the stands is about player behavior more than the win/loss something must change.

DHS needs turf, Rhome needs a paid Fire Department , and Newark needs a cop!

Anonymous said...

Newark can't afford a cop. Meth biz ain't what it used to be.

Anonymous said...

Why do u idiots in Decatur really think turf is going help ur crappy team??? It's the players and coaches, not the field u morons

Anonymous said...

THANK YOU.

Anonymous said...

Rhome needs turf, not a paid FD

Anonymous said...

no one has said anything about turf. its a dumb ass joke from years back that people will not drop.

Anonymous said...

My kid plays football for Decatur. He will admit that they have "an unusually stupid team this year". Combine that with weak assistant coaches and Kyle doesn't have a whole lot to work with.

P.S. my kid is glad we don't have turf...it takes your skin off and burns like hell.

You know what I was talking about by personnal foul (fail) penalties. You can not argue with what I said or what is going on with the DHS football program so you attack me. That is fine. I bleed Eagle blue and will always support the kids. But what is going on is a disgrace. Anyone that has seen this team play knows that a change is needed.

Did that team from Boy not play?

8:24 Turf is a JOKE !!!! So is the coaching staff it time for a change.

What on earth is "SENCE?"

I hope that Decatur turns things around football wise before you have a stroke. On a positive note, the state of the actual education the students are receiving is obviously of no consequence to you. I'm certain you've done just fine with your limited education...

Decatur school acts more like the city council of Rhome sometimes.

I can not believe we lost to Krum!
That is playing krummy!
I am sick of the lack of discipline that always surfaces this time of year and kills off the season.
It needs to be addressed before it is too late!
I have grown tired of the ongoing failure to address the issue!
We may need to change the board to encourage action!

Anonymous said...

I hear Todd Dodge is available...

Anonymous said...

Well I'll be. Decatur is 3-5 this year, had a playoff win in 2005 and the coaches still feel they deserve a new stadium with turf and an indoor practice field. Want in one hand and ........ you know what I mean. This should be the end of the story.

Anonymous said...

I guess if you support FCA the all should be forgiven!

Anonymous said...

Paradise coaches need to develop and inspire players. They also need to evaluate players better. They have spent too much time coddling players that have talent, but no heart. They also practice certain plays during the week and then change to plays they didn't practice during the game. It starts at the top.

8:43, who do you think picked all those "stupid" assistant coaches in Story's football program? Story!

He has not had any discipline ever with his boys. If people only had a clue of what he covers up for them and it has gone on for years.

Let's see, how long has Krum been playing football? How long has Decatur been playing football?
You cannot tell me that with the pool of kids Decatur has, that there are no real athletes to work with. Has it crossed anyone's mind that maybe the REAL athletes choose not to play football under Story?

I remember the glory days when DHS Eagles were a traditional force to be reckoned with. Many times that tradition gave us the edge in close ballgames.

When a town (school) loses the traditions of championships it becomes very very difficult to get winning programs back on track. I truly believe after the 13, 14 years (? - not sure how many, but know too many) Story has been here, our winning tradition has become a thing of the past.

If a coach cannot or will not control their players' behavior on the field, then I can guarantee you, they aren't in control of much at all! I certainly can recall coaches in the past who would have made an example of any kid who behaved like a jackass on the field! And after making an example of that kid, the other players wouldn't dare think of acting out!

Story has a poor program that great athletes steer away from, he also has no respect from his players unless their poor behavior is applauded by him - then they respect him enough to do as he wishes. It is quiet obvious he cannot produce champions (except in their own minds), and our school board is inadequate for keeping him on - especially after so many crappy seasons.

Anonymous said...

How can we have the same character issues every year?
Must be the parents fault since most of the coaching staff is new!

Anonymous said...

Why does no one bitch or even comment on the powerful Bulls?

Anonymous said...

DHS will win if they get turf. You cannot be like Northwest if you don't have turf. Fuzzy's will also never make it without more parking on the square. Rhome will burn if they do not get a paid fire department, and Newark will only prosper by getting a cop.

Anonymous said...

12:46...Ever think that Decatur has the athletes but maybe they just do not have the right last name? How does an underperforming coach last so long....maybe by keeping the folks with the right last names happy.

Anonymous said...

8:05

They were off this week, no (S)tory there, so to speak.

Anonymous said...

The Bulls are having a horrible year too. The kids who did decide to play (many didn't) are getting hurt left and right. Having to bring up under classman who are not ready for Varsity ball. Sad for the boys but they are having to fill shoes that they are not ready for. Even sadder is that they are being put in shoes in which they could easily get hurt. Kids are being moved from team to team which in turn does not give them the time to learn what they are suppose to be doing. Trust me, going to be more kids sitting in the stands next year because of how the coaches are handling issues this year.

Anonymous said...

Why would you expect young men to behave differently when these young men see the adults:

Manipulating NoPass/NoPlay rules
Manipulating residence requirements
Recruiting
Codling the right last names
Manipulating practice rules

These young men have learned the lesson: The prospect of Winning trumps all else!

Anonymous said...

9:03...coddle them? Really? I see and hear just the opposite. In fact, I hear whining from parents over them being too mean to your babies.

Face it, they are going up against kids bigger and faster than them every week. They fight as hard as they can, but they can only do so much.

Anonymous said...

The answer is to move to Chico!

Anonymous said...

You don't have to move to Chico to play they take transfers left and right and they all end up playing on the varsity. If it wasn't for transfers there wouldn't be a varsity team in Chico. There is no discipline there either......just saying. A bunch of spoiled kids with parents that cry and complain about everything. Completely agree with 3:05.........so so true!!!!

Anonymous said...

You have to give sups time to rectify things. They have several big decisions to make:

Stop socializing with the local contractors long enough to work.

Where you going to move an unsuccessful coach......you have to have a job with no accountability, no responsibility, no punching the clock

What salary will be fair? 120K? plus benefits? A car?

What five teachers will you let go so as to keep the budget balanced

When this has been decided.....change will occur.

Anonymous said...

7:08, "where are you going to move an unsuccessful coach?"

You do not rehire him at the end of the year! (Basically, you fire him.)

It's happened for years! Nothing different now.

Anonymous said...

Just plain SAD!

Do something!

Anonymous said...

8:05
The Bulls have won 6 playoff games since '05. Go Bulls!

Anonymous said...

If you look at the records of the boys in Middle School, and Freshman years they were winning. It isn't until they get to J.V and Varsity they begin to loose. I have known many of the Juniors on the team for many years and the current J.V team were undefeated three years in a row. It isn't until Story starts using them as hitting dummies for the Varsity and doesn't truly care about the kids only about his image. Not all the assistant coaches are morons, Coach Jones was the freshman head coach that won District last year with an undefeated team. There is a tremendous lake of respect and discipline in the athletic department. If they would demand respect, enforce rules and stop covering up for their "star" players, then maybe we could have some Eagle pride restored. It is sad when you have younger football players thinking the upperclassman are nothing but punks and jokes. They should be looking up to them and respecting them.

9:46, that bullying technique has been Story's MO from the very beginning. When he first came here the varsity boys brutally hazed the under class men in the name of tradition. Police were called and parents were ready to file complaints. A 'settlement' was reached and the school began a no hazing policy. As long as Story stays in Decatur the football program will not improve. Way past time for him to be gone!
