The Tarrant County DA's office has "jumped the shark". Once known for its professionalism and even handed fairness, it is now is trying to become the Sheriff Joe of North Texas. Or maybe the National Enquirer.
When did all the metroplex DAs go crazy?
RIP Tim Curry. You would have never allowed this. (Curry is the former long time DA of Tarrant County who died in 2009).

Edit: Someone pointed out that I post "And Another" pics of individuals who have not been convicted. Yeah, but they are hot women. That's obviously acceptable. Law school 101.

Don't take this to say that I would in any way condone driving under the influence. Having said that what happened to innocent until proven guilty. It would seem a good time for those in the legal community to police themselves maybe with a class action defamation suit. Just saying

Publish folks charged, not found Guilty yet. I am no lawyer, but somehow that just seems wrong.
Guilty until proven innocent.
Nice to know that, if I have one glass of alcohol this weekend, get pulled over by the police in Fort Worth and are arrested my name is immediately published for the entire world to see even though I have not been convicted of anything yet. So much for innocent until proven guilty.
While growing in a nearby small town, the local paper published every arrest each week.
The kids would pour over the arrests, divorces, and obits to see if we knew anyone.
better that than the voter registration for the
democratic party
Wise Co will prolly follow suit.
Former Harris County reject ADA and current Montgomery County asshat Warren Diepraam does this exact same thing.
Idiots.

My hometown paper prints the names of people who get indicted (which I think is fine). I read them to see if anyone I played football with got indicted.
Rage
What about your "And another" bit? Are they convicted already?
Ridonkulous. We are a nation of the elect and non-elect. Basically, the non-elect are all those doing, saying, or thinking what the the person judging disapproves of. "Silent in conscience, calm in their right, confident their ways are best."
Don't want your name published, then don't drink and drive.
It's really, really easy to avoid being on this list.
3:55, piss off the wrong cop and they can say you are doing, or have been doing, anything they want. Aren't we a nation of due process??? By your line of thinking, maybe we don't even need the judicial branch....maybe judges who don't think like you do should be arrested and made to answer for themselves. It is easy to see how people like Hitler (and much lesser fascists/tyrants) fool the masses until they reach the critical mass that creates absolute power with its most evil manifestations.
The Tarrant Co. DA is an embarassment. He is nothing but a publicity hound.
Why else would he hire a former S-T reporter as a PR person for the office? With all of the money spent on that position, how many other positions might have been saved?
How long until this idiot runs for higher office?
We currently publish GJ Indictments also. They are not convicted...
I have no issue with it. I think it is funny how people here are griping about it so much, but it is a common practice with other crimes
In reference to your edit:
Drunk Chicks put out so it is ok for the Star Telegram
Somebody publishing something about someone elses tragedy for everyone elses entertainment?
Sounds like our local gossip rag and all the wreck pictures.
There's no problem here. It's the freedom of information act +1. You don't even have to submit a request for the arrest on any given weekend (which is a public record). They will simply post it for you. Saves money, save time.
That's the absolute wonder of our nation...you don't like it, you can always move away
3:55. Bless your heart..... May you never have an injustice done to you.... Beware.... I too USED to think that way....
Why can't the cops just shoot them in the back of the head after the stop?
Can't wait for the first law suit by someone who has the same name as someone who really was arrested! You talk about a good way to ruin some innocent person's life!
Wise County, Denton County, Dallas County, and (I think) Tarrant County Jails have all been publishing the names and pictures of who is in their jails. Denton County keeps them up to see for years and years.
Only diff here is that they're being grouped by the crime, and posted without a query.
Good for Tarrant County DA, If your stupid enough to drink and drive then your name ought to be published. "IN BIG LETTERS" It's for sure if they drink and drive and kill someone the person whom they kill their name will be published---- in the "OBIT SECTION"
so I say go Tarrant county!!!!!
I guess my comment wasn't approved by the blog author, I don't know why it was the truth, but it never appeared here.
Maybe it will keep some of you drunk Crackers from killing someone this year idiots.
