I probably find this funnier than you will, but I love this guy. He explains the "21 Foot Rule" which is a well known principle that I've never heard of: It takes a man with a gun the same amount of time to draw his weapon and fire as it does for a man with a knife to charge him from 21 feet away and stab.
So, to prove this Rule Of The Street, he demonstrates how fast he can move during those 21 feet and slaughter, and I mean slaughter, a cardboard cutout. And it's the charging that's the gold in the clip. I mean, it's enough to make a marine freeze with fear.
I'd find this guy a whole lot more credible if he owned a tape measure, even if it's just a 12-footer. And I could have done without the math lesson at the start
The swingset in the yard would explain why he thinks he needs to explain every little detail to us. Dude, get out of the house and spend some time with other grown-ups!
How many folks go around with a sword at the ready? I mean besides this freak Wouldn't it take about the same amount of time to fish out your knife as it would for the other guy to get out his gun? You have 21ft BEFORE he pulls his gun. If you know he's pulling a gun, he already has the advantage
Ok, If I am ever in this specific situation I remember this info. and I will always try to keep at least 22 feet between myself and all nutjobs with swords.
I wonder how many feet I need if I got both barrels of my side by side coach gun trained on a silly sword swinger because that is the most likely scenario for me ever shooting someone.
i would love for this guy to charge a guy with a gun. 50-1 he ends up getting blasted. not to mention his whole theory is based on if he was hiding with his knife-sword drawn ready to attack, with the man with the gun completely unsuspecting. this guy needs help.
Sure, if the gun guy just stands there. But what if the guy with the gun ducks or jumps aside and avoids the undisciplined psycho mad rush? The way that guy approached, he's dead; probably gets shot in the back of the head.
All othe comment not withstanding, the principle he is demonstrating is used most often in defense of Law Enforcement Officers who have to justify why they shot someone "who only had a knife". This man shows the very basis of that principle.
I would have had my 40 cal probably only 75% withdrawn- in a very controlled manner true enough HOWEVER, I would have side stepped him as opposed to standing there like a well- cardboard target, swept his feet out from under him and placed two rapid shots in his spine before he hit the pavement. That is a fact.
PS anyway, since he already had his knife out my pistol would have benn likewise therefore long before his little charge he would have either put the knife down and rejoind polite society or I would shot him in the face.

Is that Tim Cole?
James Coburn demonstrated this point better in The Magnificent Seven. Fast reflexes.
My Other Brother Darryl
That guy had serial killer eyes.
Headshot.
Wow this guy scares me BG, hold me! I wonder if this bad ass has to register himself as a deadly weapon?
FYI: A bullet proof vest does not stop a 40 S&W to the face. Why do people always assume to aim for the chest?
Crazy Eyes should try it out with a Marine and real gun and then I'll believe it.
Glad I'm not his neighbor!
Moron!
I think daddy's been laid off and is using YouTube to fill his time.
so remember if someone runs at you with a knife...run backwards until you can draw your pistol.

1) if you see a guy with a big ass knife like that squaring off to you, you probably already have your gun drawn. So him "surprising" you is unlikely.
2) there's about a .5% chance that anyone is stupid enough to charge someone with a gun from 21 feet away with a knife.
3) the chance of anyone standing still like a cardboard target while some nutbag charges you with a knife from 21 feet away is nil.
4) Marines [always capitalized] ain't scared of nuthin'.
Thought I was watching Dwight K. Schrute on The Office. Sounds like one of his demos.

But, if you're packing a three foot sword, shouldn't it be the 24 foot rule?

What is he had a head wind...it would slow that mean looking charge? Or the guy with a gun does the Lucy/Charlie Brown/Football thing?
They stab cardboard cutouts don't they?
I cried though the whole movie.
I keep waiting for his wife to yell:quit f*****ng around and lite the grill.I could have gone to Lowes for a tape by the time he got started.
I still prefer Denney Crane's version: He who lives by the sword gets shot by he who doesn't...
What an F'ing DORK
I'm glad I don't work with that guy.
Entertaining video though, Barry.
The worst part about this guy is, he lives in Dallas!!!
Reminds me of that scene in The Holy Grail when the guys charge the castle gate from a great distance... and then arrive almost instantaneously.
Wack-Job's video is less believable.

is he willing to do this as a live 1 0n 1 demo? or is he wanting to get "hopped up on drugs" first?
