I'm not offended that Texas Ranger Ron Washington tested positive for cocaine. I am offended that he expects us to believe that it was the first time he ever tried the drug -- at age 57.- A tweet by The Ticket's Junior Miller yesterday: "Is there any doubt that on the road when Wash makes a pitching change that some team's PA guy will roll Clapton's 'Cocaine'?"
- Edit: The Ron Washington animated GIF's have begun.
- 25,804 people were at the Fort Worth Zoo yesterday = Beating.
- You can now catch Baylor's first round NCAA game today at 1:45 p.m. on Channel 21.
- I was in the courtroom yesterday on a CPS case when I learned that two kids under 10, whose father had died in a Wise County crash, were receiving over $1,000 a month each in Social Security benefits.
- I checked a second ago and we now have 189 people signed up for the Liberally Lean Basketball Tourney sponsored by Stagecoach Steakhouse. And some of the names are pretty funny.
- Don't ask me why, but I jogged yesterday listening to a podcast from UC-Berkeley from iTunesU -- it was a history lecture about the Pacific Front in World War II. My impression: If that is as intense as UC-Berkley can get, then we'd all graduate with honors.
- I know someone who always uses the word "pathetic" when they have a meltdown. And they don't even know they do it.
- There are 3D TVs coming into the market? Speaking of TVs, I've never used picture-in-picture.

Ron Washington and the Rangers better get ready for it this season. There are going to be so many songs, signs, etc. about cocaine!
92.5 Radio has been making fun of Ron Washinton all morning and playing Cocaine GREAT stuff.
I would have tried harder when I named by bracket if I had known people were going to be so creative.
My favorite names are "The Winner" and "Conservatively Fat."
Yeah, sure it's the first time he tried it. Just like all my clients with warrants that get arrested were on their "way to turn myself in".
I have never understood social security benefits.
In the case of those two kids. Is the money they are recieving money that the father HAS paid in or it that digging into the pockets of what others have paid in?
If it's money that others have paid in, no wonder SS is in bad shape.
Can you opt out of paying SS?
you think $1000 each is alot???
raise two kids on $2000 a month, when the dad, probably made twice that or more per month???
plus, put money back for college....
Let's hope he had life insuranace, and the mom works too.
I have been told the money that children receive when the dad is killed and/or dies, when they are minors, is social security that has already been paid in. The mom is also entitled to a widows pension as long the children are minors and she does not get married.
Why is CPS involved because a dad died? There's more to this story. Obviously mom is having some issues.
Barry, you need to have a kid and find out that kids ARE expensive. I receive $1,500 per month child support for two kids. It wasn't even a true 25% of his income. If it had been, he would be paying $4000 per month.
Regarding the Social Security:
"There is a limit to the Social Security benefits that can be paid to your family members each month. The limit varies, but is generally between 150 and 180 percent of the deceased’s benefit amount." This is straight from the ssa.gov site. We are all paying part of the benefits to raise the deceased person's children. However, I would rather be helping pay for other kids than be dead and have my kids left in the lurch. (Yes, I have life insurance, but that's for their college).
Skippy, I see where Obammy entered the African Handball Tourney and picked Sycacuse. That's one brilliant man, just like his VP.
10:13...Sounds like there is something more to your situation as well. Your ex paying $1500 for 2kids on an income of $200,000.00?? You must have really had a dumb lawyer.
I'm curious as to why you are offended by what Ron Washington says he did or didn't do. You, a defense attorney, who supposedly champions "innocent until proven guilty" don't appear to have any stake in what Washington did or didn't do. Do you ever find it odd that you can be so judgmental of so many people while telling so many people they should not be judgmental of someone for simply being accused? I do.
There doesn't necessarily have to be "more to this story". He said that the dad was dead, and that CPS was involved in the case. He didn't say that CPS was involved BECAUSE their father was dead. You're trying to make something out of nothing
Plus, $2,000 for two kids sounds like enough, since it is supposed to supplement the guardian's income, not be the sole source of income
Ron Washington is like Bill Clinton he never INHALED !!!! lol
No mention of Obama's interview on Fox News? Here's an excerpt:
Barack Obama: "Everyone knows what's in the healthcare bill."
Bret Baier: "Then can you tell me if the Connecticut deal is still in the bill?"
BO: "er, --" (Question never answered.)
It was over 200 years ago when the phrase "innocent until proven guilty" was enforced.
Today, you are guilty until proven innocent....fact.
LOVE the Random gal......just has nasty written all over her.
About raising kids and child support. BELIEVE me.......child support doesn't stop when they turn 18.......it just begins.
Ron Washington and George W might have snorted together.
Tori Black
Just saw on the nine o'clock news there in money for pell grants in the health bill.Imagine that.Seriously I doubt that anyone has read the entire thing.Maybe George Soros has a clue.DAGO
Wordkyle, Obama may not sufficiently answer all questions, but he does have an articulate command of the language.
Bush?
Well.
606 - My example did not impugn Obama's command of the language. It impugned his command of the truth.
If you think this is Ron Washington's first experience with coccaine, then YOUR on coccaine!
