Most of the resort members could'nt do a 5 yd. run. I bet chaffing will be the harshest element of the day. I guess some things sould be left to the imagination.
The high school isn't growing in numbers, but there were are a few extra bodies roaming the halls and offices last week. Oh, don't worry; it's just the fine folks from the Title IX office wrapping up an investigation that was launched some 10 months ago.
The findings here will determine the fate of some.
Amazing! The Alvord paper didn't mention it and the "editor" attends AHS. What a joke! It's just a WEEKLY reminder of what is wrong with Alvord.
Running a race wearing ONLY your birthday suit makes me laugh as much as little ones running through the house without a diaper! Perhaps some people never grow beyond the freedom to let it all hang out.
I bet every tree limb along the camp has people watching and pointing!
This story is so funny and Alvord claim to fame in the world!
As far as the article in the WCM It is funny that everytown in Wise County and even out of the county! talked about sports for the week EXCEPT for the Alvord section, all they had to say is about the Title IX I guess Alvord students had no sports to report, as for as the Weekly THANK YOU! for not writing about it! Maybe the students that are having to be interviewed is tired of the B S. I am sure when it is all wrapped up the Weekly will print the out come. Most people in the town will be glad when it is said and done!
KUDOS to you AHS student for being an entrepeneur at a young age. The Weekly is doing an outstanding job of reporting what the readers want to see. Keep up the good work.
I agree those girls are doing a great job making the newspaper really local again. It is nice to see more of the community in the paper and we are proud to see the positive in the community.
Oh yeah, it is real nice to have another BIAS paper trying to report news again. They are doing such a great job, they couldn't even give ALL the Alvord School Board Candidates equal space in the paper.
Miss Editor graduate from high school, get you a real job and RUN like the wind from Alvord. DON'T take on the reputation that follows your last name!
Anybody that supports John Trice, I know for a fact, can't be too honest.
Hey 7:45 KUDOS, you need to be careful of your verbiage. Some of us was in those meetings, when you had a brain fart and chose to speak on behalf of the Administration. I believe your mouth is what hurt your husband's and yours business. KUDOS back at ya!
You got that right 9:24 They print a letter for one set a candidates, then a formal Q&A for the second set that they obviously support. They also gave the second set front page coverage. How obvious can they be? Looks like politics as usual in that town. Old blood trying to stay in power, right or wrong. They'll do anything to feel like a big shot, including buying a newspaper. Good thing 90 percent of the town sees right through it. Most cancelled their subscriptions anyway.
10:22 WHAT READERS WANT TO SEE!???? OMG! You print what you want the locals to believe. And that is that every thing is "oh so wonderful in the town that trice built". You haven't printed anything about the Title 9 folks because it would call attention to the REAL problems at AISD. Way to go WCM - finally a mention of the truth!
7:45 Doesn't entrepreneur mean a person who organizes, and manages a business? That would be a stretch in this case. Collecting a debt by handing your kid a new toy, after the drunk owner runs off, doesn't meet that discription. The paper does look better than it did though.
Alvord Citizens....I would like to say that now with the election upon us we need to focus on the real issue at hand, and that would be our kids. In just a few days we will be electing school board members. These members need to have their personal agenda's set aside and focus on the kids, district, and school business. All this bickering isn't doing anyone any good. So today, let's place our focus on where it should be, and where it should've been for the past 11 months.
You sound just like Kudos up there! Let's all just forgive and forget!
Is it possible that you are the BIG one that said: By the time elections come around, they will have all forgotten about everything!!!! BELIEVE ME, IT HASN'T BEEN FORGOTTEN!
I wonder if you knew & had, several hundreds of thousands of dollars stolen from you, if you would just forgive & forget!
i think all 8:35 was saying is if you want to make a change in the leadership this is your time and you need to make sure you vote. i don't think it was anything about forgive and forget just to vote and for candidates to not push an agenda but be fair which is apparently why you all are mad in the first place, you don't think it was fair. if you haven't forgotten then vote then that is the only step you can really do is make sure people who feel the same way about whatever issues happened in your district get into office and you can get closer to a board that you feel is more fair to your own views, otherwise you should have run to do that. your vote is the same as you running basically it is the only way you can get your point out there
I guess I don't understand ,as a outsider looking in?Things in Alvord ISD seem to be good,TAKS scores are always high,Nice buildings, teams always compete? So whats all the fighting about?
12:21 Too much to explain. Google in Voice of the Tax payer, Alvord isd, and you'll get the picture.
BUT....8:35 does have a point. It is time to move on and focus on the election.
Let's take a look at the candidates. John vs Stacey John - 1. has kids in the district so has an inside look at what is going on in the schools. 2. He also OWNS a business in the district, so he will look at the district from a business stand point. 3. He has been an active community leader in 4-H and the DEIC commitee, so he has an idea about the community's needs. 4. His skills as a contractor could come in handy for current and future building projects. Stacey - None of the above Kevin - 1. is a college professor so has first hand knowledge of what it takes to move our kids forward. 2. Has one that graduated from AHS and one still in school so has an inside look. 3. Has served on the board for 2 terms with a proven record of voting for what is best for ALL kids, not just for what is popular or being pushed by people with agendas. 3. According to the minutes, has more training ours than all board members combined. Most did not even bother to get what was required by law. 4. Listens to all concerns and is approachable as a board member. Joe WHO? - none of the above - never even been to a board meeting. So.....now that you are educated.....Vote accordingly.
3:44 PM I hope you didn't go to the same school I did, or does AISD not teach proper grammer? You started with a statement, and apparently are trying to end with a question without punctuation . No wonder the kids are so messed up!!!
3:44 Dude, have you been hanging out with Mike and Joe on the boat, you seem alittle drunk.... What is best for the future of these kids is to have a board that is concerned about the education of the kids, and how to get the most out of our tax dollars. According to the group that met at Stacy's house last night, the only thing they want is to make sure Mikey keeps his job. Is that all you want for your sons? A guy that throws games, and hasn't had a winning record since he's been here? All the signs speak volumes about the people who put them in their yards. Vote John and Kevin! They don't sit on the fence and are not swayed by EVIL,intensions!
Vote John and Kevin! They care about the future of all of our kids, not just a couple whose grampa want to see them start on the football team. Too bad no one with a brain went to Stacy's party. They would have explained that the worse thing she could have done for her campaign is put a Joe Blow sign in her yard. Looks like she jumped off the fence and landed in a pile of *#@!.

Skippy, Be sure to use your real name. Skippy Von Green.
I may have to spectate this race.
Blackmail photos come to mind.

Does the expression "balls out" have anything to do with trying to win the race? Or is it bad to run too hard in these events?
The following was in this Sunday's Messenger.
Alvord

I agree 7:10 - this would be one funny race to observe!
It's a long way from Alvord, and they are better neighbors than most.

So.....now that you are educated.....Vote accordingly.
Same old stuff lets vote this one in he or she will be on our side (the right side) which is the right side WE NEED TO THINK OF THE STUDENTS FUTURE.
I am sooooooooooooo glad this is the last year my family has to deal with this
9:27 am....No one is talking forgive & forget....it's time to move forward. Get the right people in the right positions.
And no I'm not the BIG ONE as you put it!!!
12:21 pm.....Buildings & TAKS scores have NOTHING to do with what's happening in Alvord!!!
1:52 pm.....You hit the nail right on the head!!!!
does anyone even know who is running in any of the other elections around the county or is this the only one that is a big deal?
1L52 p.m. Did you say Joe or George?
I've been hearing alot about George lately and NO one seems to know who he is. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHO GEORGE IS???????????
3:44 PM I hope you didn't go to the same school I did, or does AISD not teach proper grammer? You started with a statement, and apparently are trying to end with a question without punctuation . No wonder the kids are so messed up!!!

Does anyone know who George is????
Apparently Mikey doesn't want to be AD in Alvord any longer.....heck he applied for a job out in West Texas. To bad he didn't make the final cut!
With his record, who would want him?
