Dolly?

I guess they mean Dolly Parton, but it's odd that her last name isn't used. Edit: Maybe it's an impersonator. I don't know where Dolly Parton is playing these days, but I seriously doubt it's local country clubs. But that's her picture in the ad, it would seem. (Thanks emailer Scott.)

Very misleading...how many "Country Music Legends" named Dolly are there?
But then, it's scheduled for April 1st, plus there's no mention of the cost

Only a Fool would be mislead. Oh, wait...........

It was the funnest thing to watch all the Old Timers at the Club, with there hearing aids going...who's Eddie Money? First the Hospital and now the Club..rumor is...hurting for cash......

Yes, it would seem. Or a remarkable look-alike (facially, at least). Dolly is very short and not thin, which appears to be the opposite of that image in the ad

its not scheduled on there club website

i call bullshit on this one

shame on the club

Amazing how gullable people are.

Hmmm...interesting commit about "The Club" at RAB hurting for cash. The whole staff acted as waitstaff at the B'Port Chamber Banquet because they didn't want to hire wait staff for the event of 300 people.

Anonymous said...

They can't afford it...the new Owners think that by bringing in concerts and Lobster that will boost the sales...WRONG...as soon as we can rid the oilfield trash, it will pick back up..keep in mind that we cannot support a private club...

A drag queen show at Runaway Bay?

Has anybody alerted the Republicans?

Some people just take themselves too seriously. Can't ya'll take a joke? It's April 1 for god's sake. Has anyone hear of the many "Elvis'" performing? Well, just maybe...

Oilfield trash? LMAO Oilfield trash brings the money in, dumbass!

Hmmmm, don't you people just believe in having a little fun. It's obvious that it is on April Fool's and that it would not actually be Dolly Parton in the flesh!! Sounds fun to me anyway! Hurray for The Club to want to do something different than what Wise County would be willing to except! haha! Who says The Club is hurting for cash? Did you ever think that the staff at The Club wanted to just make a little extra money of their own so offered to work the chamber banquet? Little do you know that the hosts of these banquets have to pay for the labor so staffing costs are not an issue!! I know, I've had an event there! Don't believe me, call and get a quote on something! Labor costs are on top of your banquet costs~

Anonymous said...

It's probably Judy dressed up as Dolly. I think they're about the same age. LOL

Anonymous said...

Thank you anon 10:30!

Yes, being a part of the staff at The Club, I would have to agree with you. Labor costs are as much as $25 an hour for event staff. For a banquet of nearly 300, you would need atleast 8 servers and 2-3 bartenders to make it run smoothly. You do the math!! We all agreed to work the event in order to put a little more cash in our pockets and cut down costs. I would much rather keep my tips and commision than giving it to a hired worker. The Club is doing just fine, thank you! Some of you may find that out if you came out and joined us. Cheers!

May people do not wish to go to the club. The manager has about as much personality as a toad UNLESS he knows you.

Waitstaff is ill trained and body parts are more than obviously in sight.

Anonymous said...

that's not dolly...it's mzchief
in a dolly parton wig

Why come out and join you. I work in an oilfield/natural gas related business. Doesn't seem that anyone wants us out there. So I've been taking my money and putting it into another club thank you.

Anonymous said...

Mabey All who come out to see Dolly will be impressed by the" TRAILOR TRASH LOOK" we always seem to repeat with the Annual egg on a stick CRAP up and down our MAIn entrance.....When are they going to figure it out that this look is so unbecomming to our community???? I have some "YARD ART" I am going to put out in my yard... And I dare the city to come and talk to me about it! I dare it.

Well Cracker Barrel is promoting Dolly's new album... Nothing says country music legend like a big ol' plate of red beans and cornbread!

And at least if you're planning on going, you wont have to inhale all the 2nd hand smoke at the Club!

And you are ALL wrong, it is Wayne Pravitz dressed as Dolly.

And 11:50, shut up and get a life,
I dare you...DARE YOU!

They're bringing female impersonators to attract a different clientele and get rid of the oil field trash. Which patrons do you prefer now?

I'll be there tweeting like crazy!

11:50 Yep it does look cheap!

12:14 - Obviously you're talking without knowing of what you speak - the Club has been non-smoking since November. Of course you may spout all you like but a little attention to fact might help. The Club does have a dress requirement that appears very easy to meet. To my knowledge, oilfield clientele is as welcome as anyone else.

And 11:50 - I'd agree that the egg signs are atrocious.

Anonymous said...

Yes! I work at the club and the oil field clientele are the best! We have people come from all over the country come visit us. Come on out an check us out. And to whoever talked about body parts??? The staff dress code is polo shirts or a nice sweater and black pants, or black or khaki bermuda's.

Still just a bunch of old retired farts who want something to biatch about. Their kids are all grown up and probably biatch about stuff in the place they live, just like mommy and daddy taught them. They don;t have any grand kids and don't appreciate the fact the egg thing is for th kids. I guess if it was free beer on a stick or free golf ball on a stick or free lets find something to biatch about on a stick, they woul be all over it. Have to love the old who just do;t have anything better to do.

You couldnt even get Quiet Riot to play that dump!

It's actually Danny Pardon......

I am ashamed for all of you pointing fingers at oilfield workers. An honest living is an honest living, and I'll bet some of them make a lot more money than you and I do. And, they probably work more hours too. Why are we not poking fun at those who work at McDonalds, or Wal Mart or Lowes or the school or the local animal clinics or my dentist office, or the post office, teh electric company or even the church office - there is nothing wrong with making an honest living. It may not be your preference but to degrade someone making an honest, ethical living is downright rude and arrogant, especially with the economy in the state that it is right now and so many of our own in Wise county losing their jobs - jobs some have had for 30 or more years.

Again, shame on you!

Anonymous said...

6:24 ~ You talk of old farts just biatchin but just what exactly is it you're doing?.....

Lay off the oilfield workers, without them, the economy in Wise would be trash...

The girls are tastefully dressed now at The Club with the new owners and very nice! The Club is not trash, it's just tryin to fit into the county......you're right...Country Club does not belong in Wise....Maybe if they hung a bunch of dead animals on the wall, tore out the nice moulding trim, and painted it camo....ohh, and the non-smoking and dress code obviously does not mesh with folk out here either. Let's just see who shows up to this Dolly thing, it's free and you say it's trashy so must be gonna be a packed house!! At least way more than comes to the fantabulous $20 Prime Rib Buffet on the first Friday!! That'll show you the true Wise. And you all poking fun...too bad we don't have names cause I guarantee you are all the ones that will be there Wed. night!!!

You all should be ashamed that you don't have anything better to do than complain! BE HAPPY!!

Yea Management's on top of it...our new Golf Pro (pro?) Can't even get off the Tee box and worked at Chili's...

Anonymous said...

Yea, we can't figure out why the other pro was let go???

Anonymous said...

Who is the Pro now?

Anonymous said...

The new pro is some guy that use to work at Chili's! Don't know what kind of golfer he is, but he's a darn good waiter! Saw him in action at the banquet.

Anonymous said...

you dont want to know 12:48...he wont last, he's about as good at Golf as serving them Boneless Wwings at Chilis..trust me they will run him off...they just couldnt afford the one that left..sad, he tried harder than any of whats there now...

As a former customer of The Club I can speak first hand about the fact there are many improvements to be made there. The "pro" they have now isn't even a pro, just some arrogant kid who fell into a good position. 5:11 you said there is a new dress code there, I remember just a short time ago when all the whores up there would dress in competition of each other to see who could show the most skin. Not all girls up there were this way, but you can probably pick out who they were, some even still work there. As far as "oilfield trash" goes at The Club, you better be glad that course is public, or it wouldn't even be open. Employees in the oilfield throughout Wise County spend more money there than all members and other customers do combined. Not only that, but they are also more likely to recognize and adhere to the standards of country club etiquette unlike some members as well as the new owners, whom by the way have been seen participating in illegal drug activity right inside the clubhouse. How do you like that members? As far as the “Dolly” stunt goes, it may very well be a hoax, but who really cares. Anyone wishing to play golf at a reputable country club is going to stay out of Wise County all together.

Anonymous said...

Sounds to me like alot of folks on here could really use a tampon and some midol! If you dont want to go to/play at Runaway Bay, then DON'T!!! Its really black and white to me, however, this coming from someone who doesn't get off on running my mouth about what I dont know and respect!

Last I checked the Club was doing quite well, and as far as the "golf pro"... He has never claimed to be a golf pro, he is the pro shop manager. Ask questions and you get honest answers. It seems some would rather jump to ignorant conclusions, however, because that what makes their sad little hearts feel better.

And the oilfield clientele are welcomed at the club along with everyone else! Believe it or not oilfield workers are more than welcome to spend their money as they chose, where they choose to do it, as are the professional trash talkers who have made their opinion well known on this blog.

Lastly, the dress code... Never in the past year have I seen skin showing on the employees. The girls and guys there dress quite appropriately, and compared to some establishments in Wise County, they look quite nice. Why don't you go take a look see. You might be impressed, but I doubt it, you will probably just be looking for stuff to bitch about, though, and overlook the good things that are right in front of you.

I pity your sad life.

Anonymous said...

It's okay Angela...dont pity us...trust us we are not impressed...

2:03 - there's no reason for you to be impressed. It would seem you're beyond commenting on the facts presented. Sir/ma'am it is you who are unimpressive (and I'm not Angela).
