I think I'll go. And listen to the catty talk about who's there and who's not. And watch as women look into the glass to check themselves out. And watch the married men stare at other women. And people drive up in fancy cars. And eat fine food. And...oh yeah...be humble before God.
The entire mega-church thing is a rip off. Jesus would just crap over the excesses of these "followers". These folks will wind up with everyone else - returned to dust in the earth so I guess it just doesn't matter.
Geezzz! Not MUCH difference in that building and the OTHER temples built all throughout history to Gods such as Athena, Zeus, Hera and Amun-Ra.
It is TRULY sad that people 5000+ years later are still building temples and making offerings to appease the God of their choice so as to gain their God's favour or at the very least NOT to fall in to disfavour with their God.
How horribly frustrating it must be for God to realize that MOST people STILL have yet to figure out God.
I guess the fact that MOST people no longer make burnt offerings is something for which to be grateful.
11:27 - it isn’t the number of followers or those baptized, it's the excessive structures that they build that Jesus would object to. In my most humble opinion, the "church" of whatever denomination should be tending to their followers NOT investing so much resource into huge structures.
You think with all that money invested into a church...they would have been able to put in a churches fried chicken next to that starbucks... or do baptists not eat fried chicken?

FBC Dallas is a great church with a rich history. W. A. Criswell was deeply loved and respected.
Likely lots of folks from surrounding churches will be attending the dedication.

Of course! Wouldn't you build a big "megachurch" if you had thousands of followers who were giving you lots and lots of money. Tax Free.

NO ONE has figured God out. We aren't supposed to understand all His ways. Not even Mzhief.
