NBC's Dateline
I'm rarely shocked, but tonight's Dateline on NBC was incredible.
The show recruited an organization called Perverted-Justice.com (I can't get the link to work - probably from server overload) whose members pose as online underage boys and girls. The fake kids entered a chat room and suckered in adult guys to come over to a house to meet them. As they arrive (and, boy, do they arrive), the cameras caught each of them (about 20 guys in all) walking into the home's kitchen. (The fake online kids told them the door would be open). Then Dateline correspondent Chris Hansen would appear and ask them what they were doing.
Words cannot describe how amazing the show was.

I am not shocked. The problem is much more prevalent than anyone wants to admit. These guys are easy to catch clearly.
I have seen many people bad mouth the police sting operations on this blog. I for one think there aren't enough of them. I would much rather see my tax dollars spent on putting these perverts away than on the "War on Drugs"
I saw a preview earlier today. Now I understand a couple of these guy have lost their jobs. Wow! Where are the police and the prosecutors in this deal? A TV crew can catch these guys but the police seem too stupid to do the same thing. Then the prosecutors will find some flaw in whatever the police do and the creeps go free. Come on cops - prove me wrong and go out and get these creeps!

Are you aware of child porn cases our DA has prosecuted? To my knowledge, she's only been to trial on any sort of case 3 or 4 times in 4 years. Is this because our cops always screw up? We have no child porn in Wise Co? Or is she just incompetent?
Yeah, and people (mostly men) continue to argue that private porn's "ok," and that's there's nothing wrong w/young girls walking around half-dressed. Amazing how the arguments keep flipflopping.....blatant exploited sexuality is what it is....it also breeds darker intent.
Unfortunately, Perverted Justice may not be as noble and altrustic as it likes you to think it is. You may want to check out the other side of the story, at a web site called "Corrupted Justice."

11:55, before you blast 8:49 for grammer, perhaps you ought to check your facts. We have a very capable DA who has made sexual assault of children in Wise County a top priority. Before you blast her for the lack of child porn cases, why don't you bother to check and see how many other rural DAs in our area have prosecuted any child porn cases--heck, check rural DAs in the whole state. I'd rather have straight facts and poor grammer than perfect punctuation and spelling spouting inaccuracies, misstatements and a lack of effort to get anything but grammer straight.
I am completely and utterly sickened...and very, very sad.
I'm sure police organizations worldwide implement this same type of operation. However, I doubt they have top of the line video/technical equipment to capture it all...along with a perfect hair, perfect teeth anchor to talk with the pervs before they go to jail. Dateline did a great job catching these guys and broadcasting the story, no doubt, and I'm not trying to take away from that. But to those who feel the police are "stupid" and don't engage in the same types of operations, do a little research. Hey, why not go to a police academy, become an officer, and show them how it's done. No?..didn't think so.
