Anon 5:24 is accurate in the deficit description. 5:46 is a little off - Nancy didn't win the election but she sure did increasingly run the presidency as Ronnie was overcome with Alzheimer’s. Ronnie was quite a speech deliverer even if he didn't always understand what he was saying.
yep, and Nancy had the last word with the big theatrical funeral...who can forget her kneeling at the tomb for the final photo session.......she didn't hold a light to Jackie Kennedy and her endurance, class and artistic vision.
One thing we know for sure. Ronnie was not lying when he said he did not recall any of the issues involed with the Iran-Contra affair. Now if Shrub could just come down w/Alzheimers.
Many people recognize our "leader" isn't the brightest light. But they frequently rationalize that they have competent staff supporting them. But what happens when the staff is corrupt, incompetent or criminal? We must wait for the next election and the populace will find another incompetent "face".
Anyone who thinks that our president is intellectually challenged will never have a light bulb at all. (And probably will not attend Yale or Harvard either.)
I for one sure am glad we have had these, as you say dumb county boys, to pull or buts out of the messes the previous queer loving liberal democrats they took over for got us into.
