I had a court appointment recently who, I learned during a meeting at the jail, was a member of the Aryan Brotherhood (a white supremacist group).
It wasn't a secret. He had the tattoos to prove it.
You know, my "liberal" mindset wasn't to storm out of the room while yelling what a racist he was. Instead, it was to sit and talk with him while thinking "how in the world did you end up with those attitudes?" He couldn't possibly have been born that way.
People fascinate me.

For the answer to your question, see "You Knew It Was A Matter Of Time" comment...
Thats what happens to people when they are left to their on thoughts.without Jesus what else is there? but Hate, self etc....
How can you be a liberal and a christian? please explain it to me? I would like to understand it
Dear anon#2, this may come as a shock to you, so go ahead and put down the Starbucks cup (LOL)...
There is a whole, big, beautiful world out there, filled with love and acceptance for all--liberals, christians, and even liberal christians.
Go ahead, take a peek from under those nifty shades...let the anger go.
no anger here Fred, just don't understand how you can be a liberal and a christian! liberal's view don't match that of the bible on most issues
Fred can get the answer to any of Barry's questions from some previous post. It's like ESP.
Obviously Barry is on the same wave link.
I would think Jesus endorsed many liberal views: compassion for the poor, that the rich should give to the poor, foregiveness, the rejection of racism, and the acceptance of even the most sinful of our society.
anon#7 good views, I believe that also, but tells us the rest of the story about what liberals believe? what about newborns etc...
I think you can be a liberal and a Christian. I don't think being conservative makes you one either nor does going to church. Just cause you stand in a garage it doesn't make you a car
so no one will explain to me what liberals believe why are not telling?
hum????????????????
Please tell me I don't actually live in Tuna, Texas - 3rd smallest town in Texas where the KKK is there for the right kinda people.
I'm just glad to see Barry is liberal and tolerant. While I often see Christians being labeled at intolerant, it's usually by those who are intolerant of Christians. Odd.
Sadly but clearly, this discussion of liberal vs conservative vs christian demonstrates the old adage that if you tell a story long enough to enough people it will become fact. Since when did someone's political philosophy have any bearing on their moral or biblical (or lack there of) believes?
Wizard, How can you say you are a christian, but your views differ from the bible? pleae explain that one to me?
And what "views" would that be? That what's good for business is not neccesarily good for the country? That sin of the flesh is a moral corruption, and so is lying and demogogery to get your way? That it is wrong to invade a sovergn nation, causing the deaths of millions of innocent people based on lies and revenge, as is the taking of any life? That it is wrong to give tax breaks to the people who already pay the least while socking it to those who already pay the most percentage wise? You do well with bits and pieces of the Bible that fit your needs, now go study the rest of it, hypocrite!
