Above The Fold

This is the revamped and free mid-week edition of the Messenger. Full front page is here. I suppose they would let me post the whole paper, but I haven't asked.

Joke of a paper writing about an ego centered joke.

Some politically adept comments for a Wise County elected official. Most of us fear our government some way or another.

We fear what an out of control government can do to innocent people anytime they want.

That is what scares me most.

All this will be is a Wise County school paper with an occasional news story. Exactly why I cancelled my subscription years ago.

After all the Waco fiascos, we have more to fear from the local cops with attitudes, the federal G men, and the messenger than Branch Davidians, Bandidos, or Cossacks.

I will not be renewing my subscription when I can't get the whole paper.

Lane Akin is as nice a guy you'd want for a neighbor, but "Sheriff Akin" is burning his candle at both ends with these Deputy Sheriff traffic cops running speed traps. There was one sitting at the Eagle Canyon entry on 51 Monday night running a radar trap. (No, I didn't get stopped.) County $ are supposed to help provide protection for county residence, not fund a bunch of Barney Fifes running a "Check Point Chicky" on state/federal highways. (And what about the license tag profiling that's going on?) I can rationalize rural FM roads that are remote, but the Sheriffs Dept. running speed traps on US 287/380/TX 114 is a misappropriation of county tax $. And maybe if they showed a little more presence on the county roads people like my neighbors would be getting robbed when they go out of town for the weekend.

Well written account by our sheriff on the investigation on why the compound burned killing innocent children. For all the conspiracy theories, Sheriff Akin gives personal account of our Texas Rangers investigation. The FBI did not start the fire!

The fbi did more damage to those kids with loud music and psychological warfare than their crazy leader ever did
