Those Hood County Republicans Are Serious

Most local political parties will accept anyone who wants to put an "R" or "D" by their name.

But not in Hood County. If the local party doesn't like you, they will disown you.

(Thanks emailer.)

It may not have always been true but it has long been true that the Republican party's worst enemy is the Republican party...

Sounds like somebody doesn't want someone to play in their sandbox.

What was that about the Party now being a Big Tent with room for all? Guess not. More of a pup tent.

So is the Hood County Republican Executive Committee Sunni, Shiite, or Sufi? Need to know what kind of crazy we are dealing with.

Maybe you guys can explain your point(s) of view on this to me. A local political party comes out against a particular candidate for an office which another Republican already holds. From the flyer, it looks like they had their reasons. They didn't ban him from being Republican, which is the impression I got from your comments. Is there something nefarious about what the Republican Executive Committee of Hood County did?

Nefarious...No, childish, yes!!!

If you're just going to come here and ask reasonable, intelligent questions you're just never going to fit in. The uninformed mob mentality we bring to the discussion precludes your thoughtful analysis. I thought everybody already knew that.

We'll darn! Sounds like old what's-his-name has been thinking for himself! The Republican Party can't have that, people would get the wrong idea! Everybody might start doing that, then where would the Republican Party be??

249- Why "childish"?

253 - My purpose in coming here is for discussion. It is what it is (an electronic public bathroom wall) but I sincerely try to understand. BG's observation, along with the others, puzzles me.

602 - It's about branding. Pretend the Republican Party is McDonalds. The menu is set in stone, and all McD's must follow the rules to be a McD. Republican officeholders are franchise stores. Candidates "apply" for a franchise. If someone applied for a franchise, but said in advance they wouldn't sell Big Macs and french fries, but would instead sell calf fries and enchiladas, then they probably wouldn't be approved for a franchise.

P.S. Take a look at the GOP with its disharmony and fighting. Do you honestly believe Republicans all think the same thing?

Wish the RNC executive committee had taken the same position as Hood County when Trump ran!

Hood County Republican Party is totally controlled by Tea Party crazies. Largent is a well spoken, well educated, excellent candidate who understands there must be solutions and governance. I find their actions a ringing endorsement to me for Largent!!! And, yes, I am Republican.

1021 - What makes you call them "Tea Party crazies?" What are their positions or actions that makes you think so? Not trying to be combative, but your description didn't really illuminate anything and I'd like to see your reasoning.

BTW, I have zero dogs in this fight and don't have a preference for either side one way or the other. I'm more interested in the thinking behind the comments here.
