Look Who Is Coming To Decatur!

The First Baptist Church has invited my nemesis! Any insider want to tell me how much they are paying him?

For Men Only? How is Jeffress getting in if it is for men only? Food for thought.

Talk about money changers in the Temple!

How many hungry WC kids could they have fed instead of giving to that idiot?

Jeffress is making it for men only so that Skippy won't be able to attend and heckle him.

He should lecture the FBC members about drinking and fornication while they are at the reunion.

I’d rather see the Chuck E. Cheese band.

Surely, in addition to any explicitly paid fees, they'll take up a "love offering" (excuse me while I spit the vomit from my mouth) at FBC.

10:41 LOL funny but you can't talk like that anymore Oprah said so!

"...........Any insider want to tell me how much they are paying him?"

Why is that any of your freaking business? Not coming out of your pocket. Probably not paying him as much as you ambulance chasers pay your speakers.

Who is drinking and fornicating from the FBC at the reunion.????? Please tell!!!!!

HALLELUJAH!

If this does not tell you the FBC is a cult, nothing will. The Decatur elite should start wearing black robes.

Jimmy Swaggart and those televangelist back then used to do it on "SPEC" or speculation.

This Kingdom Men group says we will guarantee you so much money for showing up. However if you sell more books and DVD's than the promised amount you make more.

And this 2-night free event will indeed be free to get in. However offerings will be taken and donations gladly accepted. The headliner to get his "cut".

2-Night event he will roll thru for maybe 1 hour. The rest of the time will be taken up by lesser known "Buy My Book" guys.

I will save you all the time and Money on how to be Kingdom Men in a dark world right here:

Love the lord
Love your family
Treat others like you would wish to be treated
Don't make crap up.
Don't talk about anyone else unless you would say it to their face.

There you go, secret of life.

Common Sense in 10 words or less.

Sorry I do not have a book.

Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Cowtown should put up a stained glass window for the Reverend Robert Jeffress like they have done for many other conservative Baptist leaders. Mike Huckabee should get one too, I suppose.

It is adorable (if slightly sad) when they don't know they're gay yet. Don't worry- he will get there and figure it all out!

Anonymous said...

FBC a cult? I guess you have actually attended a service lately? NOT.

Anonymous said...

It's a sad day when the good ol' boys from Wise County can't spot a crook! I can remember the old timers, and not so old timers around here raising hell everytime a Jerry Falwell or Jim Baker was on the tube. It's one thing to resist the liberal nonsense, it's another to allow your hatred to get you bamboozled in the process!!!

I grew up going to the First Baptist Church in Decatur. When they tried to convince me that The Simpsons and Dungeons & Dragons were pathways to the devil I decided it might not be the place for me.

The entire congregation 11:54. I bet half are on the reunion board.

Anonymous said...

Yea, they use to get speakers at DHS to motivate the kids and tell you to attend their old church after school, then it was all about “ if you listen to rock n roll you are going to hell”! It was brainwashing.

Not into klan rally’s and gossipers 2:27.

Anonymous said...

Are you the kid who threw the 3 sided dungeons and dragons dice on the floor for them to step on ?

When I want religious advice from a gay person I'll call Freddy Mercury.

He is not your nemesis. He does not fight unarmed opponents.

I've never heard so many trite, banal, boringly shallow criticisms of a church in all my life! Wow! All of your criticisms are SO original and deeply thought out! NOT! Oops! I used the "thought" word (as in "to think").

Most of you who said "the church said or did such and such" are just going by what you've heard other people say the church said or did something. Hearsay upon hearsay upon hearsay. Next we'll hear that you can't go to FBC Decatur if you don't wear a suit or tie. Old shallow comments based on--nothing.

The biggest group of divorce lawyers can be found there. Don’t need the yellow pages, just the church directory

Anonymous said...

You can go to that church without a suit, but those gossiping teachers will talk about your fashion tastes to others if it wasn’t bought from NRS

The FBC members care more about their reunion cabins than their teachings, and getting that crazy to speak there sets a bad example. Sadly they have become more obsessed with town gossip, their position on the reunion board, women’s league, their kids position in Sports, and their family owned and operated mentality with no regard for outsiders. I am glad they had people like Mrs Tolbert there because she was a real Christian and not obsessed with social status. She was the only shining light there and an inspiration to those that interacted with her at the store. She was a true example of a good person Jesus would be proud of. The rest have run off a lot because they don’t jive with their wannabe groups and social status. I feel sorry for the kids who were forced to go there. Luckily there was at least one shining star who showed a real regard for others.

Read a lot of negative comments about this and just have one question to ask and one statement to make. What difference does it make to any of you? If they are not using local, county, state or federal dollars to subsidize this event, then you have no say about it, good or bad.

Because that Jeffress guy is a wolf in sheeps clothing. He is deceiving the good folks of Wise. This is the Republican that laughs at Wise Republicans and wouldn’t be caught dead associating with them at his country club, but will gladly take their money. Decatur FBC might as well hired Tonya Harding. Makes me glad I got away from the church.

You, my friend, are the winner!

Anonymous said...

There are plenty of other local churches that are not FBC “ my mom has a business on the square” mentality. They aren’t mega sized and the people are a lot friendlier.

Hey 3:47: your mom.
