It just goes to prove the ol' saying, "Keep Austin Weird!"
Just because you liberals like to eat all healthy and stuff don't mean we got to follow your commie asses. I like my diet just fine and I am going to Walmart right now to by some packages of good food to heat up for my family tonight for dinner.
Any status of the "GRIEVANCE HEARING"?
John Price is a thug, end of story.
JL telethons have have raised over 1.5 billion dolars.
When you say "what does he have to show for it?" if you mean money- it's nothing. He doesn't take any of it and couldn't get away with it if he tried due to the close scrutiny.
Something not everyone knows: people with MD (or a LOT anyway) hate the telethon and how they say it portrays them as 'victims in need of rescue'. They also say it drains resources which could be used to promote access and help with other problems faced by md sufferers. I ony know about this because of having 4 friends from 3 different families who were very vocal in their disagreement with how they were portrayed every year around labor day. Probably a lot of people good with Lewis's efforts but, I've only known a few people in my life with the disease and all had a serious problem with the telethon.
If wondering what he has to show toward a treatment or cure- I don't know and would be curious to know myself.
Here's another good book title:
"It's Not Paranoia If They're Really out To Get You"
Honestly, how you can continually discount our dislike for a man who continuously sides with elements who hate our country and our way of life is beyond me. Hugo Chavez,
Kaaled Maashal, Rev Wright, Bill Ayers. If you refuse to read the writing on the wall you deserve what you will undoubtedly end up; a non prosperous third world sh--hole that resembles much of the rest of the world. Fine for you but I don't appreciate being dragged into the toilet because the majority in our once great country became fat, stupid, lazy professional beggars.
Thanks a lot, Butt-head
Barry....Jerry Lewis, for all his foibles....helped put MD on the map and has raised millions for research.
Can't you cut him a little slack.
Yeah Barry---Who in their right mind would ever think those in the White House would ever change anything???? DUHHHHHH
Nice picture BG. Thanks for the pick-me-up.
So let me get this straight. You were not aware that there are hospital districts in virtually every large county in this state, funded by taxpayers, that provide, by law, health care to the needy. But you think you know enough about the subject to decide that we should spend more billions of dollars for universal health care to cover people who are already covered by taxpayers.
I would lick their toes
Shouldn't we just trust in what people say when it comes to spending large sums of money on stuff?
At least now we don't have to worry about governors, senators, representatives, mayors or any other elected officials being invited to speak at any BISD or DISD school functions where kids would have no choice but to hear their message. The precedent is established.
Michelin makes good windshield wiper blades They should get John Wiley Price as a spokesman.
That's been the point all along about health care....it's ALREADY available to the poor/needy. No need to spend our money on them. That's what JPS, Parkland, and every hospital in the nation who has an ER do. They ALL provide care for the "needy" already. It's not like these deadbeats are dying in the streets!!!
I'd like to stand between those two girls and just fling my tongue back and forth or somethin.
11:07 I was also shocked that Mr. Green didn't know that! That's one of my biggest rants! People who go to the emergency room in a non-emergency compacity looking for a free ride disgust me.
1) Jerry Lewis has nothing to show for his many years of fundraising....MD research has much to show for what he did. Did you expect him to profit from his labor...he isn't an attorney you know.
2) Obama is an idiot regardless of our political views. Even idiots with the power to address masses shouldn't be allowed to consume academic space in schools.
3) It think John Wiley Price hates himself...and he certainly has ample evidence why.
Hey, Barry, you might want to point out that Van Jones resigned as "Green Czar," following the truth about his background.
You know ..if you just talk to John Wiley Price someplace out of earshot of a reporter he can be a pretty decent guy.
Too bad the rest of time he plays a race whore on TV
teacher scandal in Bridgeport just broke, it was Derek B. Worlow 32. He turned himself into authorities and he is in the wise county jail now on $50,000.00 bond
The needy do not get health care the same as insured. If you don't believe it go to the doctors office or ER and tell them you do not have health insurance. If you do get to see a doctor you are in and out and on your way regardless of what is wrong. If you are insured you will have all kinds of tests, MRIs, specialists - the works. Do not think it is the same care.
to 9:45. Not only is it paranoia it is stupidity. What do you think is going to happen - that he is going to reach thru the TV with his big black hand and touch your white child and turn them black. Racist idiot. He is President of the United States.
Maybe John Wiley Price and Tom Bishop could team up and take over the White House!!
You missed the point 5:15. We could and should debate whether current health care is sufficient for the needy or if new proposals are necessary. But many liberals talk about the uninsured as if they are not covered for any health care needs and that is not the case. Many of them, including at least one local attorney, jump on board the new administration's health care train without even the most basic knowledge of the issue. If it sounds good and supporting it will make me feel good about myself, I'm for it.
Sad that we can't trust our president to talk to our kids. What does that say about this man? It doesn't take a rocket scientist! We DON'T trust him and that's why he changed his speech at the last minute when the majority came out against him, why he WOULDN'T release the prepared lesson plans in advance, and why he WOULDN'T release the verbage of his speech. Come on, America. WAKE UP! No, in fact, THANK YOU, AMERICA, for waking up and making this guy LISTEN TO US for a change!!!
7:49, you said it well. I work in health care and I can promise you that the uninsured DO get health care. If you show up at an ER in NEED of care (true need), you are treated...period. We give millions of dollars worth of free charity care away annually, and I personally know that at any given time we have a number of "freebie" patients in the local hospital for which we will receive not one red cent. So don't tell me the poor aren't getting care, because I see it every day. Those who whine about the poor indigent not having access to health care do NOT know of what they speak...period.
