Verdict: 15 years

Barry (from iPhone) Edit: But we did have a little bit of drama when the victim was allowed (by law) to address the defendant in open court after the verdict. She stood about 15 feet from him and spoke loudly and angrily. Her opening sentence was something about "throwing a shoe" which I didn't quite pick up. But after telling him that she did not fear him although he "destroyed my family," she ended with: "I hate you and hope you burn in hell." That was pretty shocking.

My espn needs to be fine tuned, I figured 10 years. Maybe needs some reynolds wrap. 15 years is probably a well reasoned result.

Don't ask me how, I just know these things.

Wait, this just in....Michael Jackson is fixing to die from 4 gunshots. Reception is a bit fuzzy. I will update later.

You are welcome.

Will you please stop referring to H. Obama as our "president". It makes me feel all icky. No wonder we are the laughing stocking of the world, we elect black people to make governmental decisions.

BTW...as far as the Pakistani child lover goes. He may have only got 15 years.....but that first week will be hell.

Dear child molester,
Just grit your teeth and don't fight back. They may be easy on you.

Can you tell me what a laughing stocking is, anonymous father 3:49? Could it be a stocking that you put over your face when laughing?
Oh, and by the way, that black man is doing 5 times the job that the wealthy frat boy he replaced did so get over it. You give intelligent white people a bad name by your overt racism. The world will be a better place when folks like you are gone on to wherever it is that folks like you go when they expire.

In the Islamic culture, throwing a shoe at someone is a sign of tremendous disrespect and shows great disdain for the target. Even showing a Muslim the bottom of your shoe is an insult. For instance, a Muslim man would never prop his ankle on his knee and risk the bottom of his shoe facing anyone in the room unless it was his intention to be disrespectful.

Yep! Those Muslims have some crazy customs.

Elaborate please. Tell us something that is "5 times the job"

Bush screwed up, I'll admit that. But tell me what Obama has done that is so damn good.

Ask the over 2 million people that have lost their job since Uncle Sammy Obammy has taken the oath how their lives have improved 5 times compared to when Bush was in office. At least Bush nows how many states there are and where he met his wife.

The people who have lost their jobs probably do realize that it is not President Obama's fault. This has been happening for a while now. Do you not remember that John McCain said the fundamentals of our economy are strong. (I do believe he said that on September 24, 2008). This was a republican saying this, but in reality the economy was tanking. Obama did not create this mess. He is trying to get us out of it. I really take offense to your racist "Uncle Sammy Obammy" remark. Not all of us in this county are racist and hateful. If you have a better idea on how to deal with the economy then you need to call your congressman/woman and voice your ideas.

Of the 2 million that have lost their jobs, ask the ones that voted for "Uncle Sammy Obammy" if they had a do over if they would still vote for this communist community organizer. I was a little offended also when Bush was compared to Hitler and a book was written on how to assasinate him but I considered the source and took it with a grain of salt. Also ask the Chrysler dealers that did not contribute to Big Ears Obammy that had owned their dealerships for several generations and were forced to close and declare bankruptcy how they are feeling right now. McCain also said that economics was not his strong suit. So please overpay your taxes to help your annointed leader pay off HIS 11 trillion dollar debt.

My sympathy to the family & the victim. Glad she had the courage to stand and confront her abuser. Will help in the healing. Big believer in victim statements.

On a more pleasant topic, isn't this the weekend of Peach Festival down in Weatherford? Luv those peaches!

Also, had Sunday brunch at Lambert's off White Settlement Road in Cowtown this past weekend. I am still salivating. Marvelous!

Remember November 19, 2008 when the big three auto company execs flew in their private jets to Washington to ask for a bailout. At the time President Obama was just President-elect Obama. The bailout for Chrysler started before he took office. Please remember who was in charge at the time, G. Bush. And yes I would vote for President Obama again. To me he is doing a better job than the previous administration. And what do you mean by "communist community organizer"?
McCain needed to make sure that the economy became his strong suit especially when the campaign was nearing the close.

This verdict and penalty seem excessive to me. The guy appears to have committed a single violation - however objectionable. The victim is scarred but will survive. Do you really think our society is now safer or more just by putting this guy behind bars for 15 years? I'd rather monitor him and ensure no further violations. Strictly supervised probation would seem much more reasonable to me.

5:19 - interesting points.

Why do men (mostly) use children for sexual purposes when they could pay for a whore who would do whatever sick act they desired?

The only answer I can figure out is:

Easy access to innocent children - like parks, swimming pools, schools and churches.

Police should be posted at all these places just for the purpose of looking out for these perverts......and or concerned citizens who would volunteer for such work (after being trained).......

..I still say, put a "mark" on the forehead of each person found guilty of a sexual offense against a child, so the public would know.

Glad this guy is going to do jail time. I wondered how he could own or lease the Alvord Express it is next door to the Junior High. Now what about the other sex offender that was in the paper a few months ago when they arrested him. He admitted to having sex with a young girl (11 or 12) to show her it wasn't a big deal! Wonder when his trial will take place?

Let's See there are 40 million people at retirement age in the USA. If the Gov, would give each couple $2,000,000 that would be $80,000,000. And lets say each couple went and bought a new house & 2 new cars! Thats 40 million new home solds & 80 million news cars GM would still be going strong all 3 would. It's just a thought. It's better than what washington has come up with!

5:36, Yes I do remember when the Big 3 flew to Washington in their private jets to ask for a bailout and I also remember when the Union boss thugs that donate heavily to the Democratic Liberal Weenies Party flew down in their private jets to testify before Congress and not a peep was said about that. And isn't it funny that now the Union now owns 55 percent of Chrysler? Can you say political payback?

Just a reminder to you people blaming Bush and Obama for crap happening.

The POTUS can ONLY suggest. It is the CONGRESS that passes laws.

Just a reminder; The democrats have been in control of both the House and Senate since 2007.

The Congress, led by democrats, are responsible for raising, by slightly more than 40%, the minimum wage from $5.15 to $7.25 per hour. Do a wee bit of math and you will notice, EVERYTHING you purchase has gone up by approximately 40% during the past 2 years. As hard as it is for democrats to believe, businesses do NOT have a closet stuffed with cash to cover the CONGRESSIONALLY MANDATED increased cost of doing business. People who provide goods and services, using minimum wage employees, pass the CONGRESSIONALLY MANDATED increased cost of doing business on to consumers. Consumers would be you and me. Businesses will, as should be the case, pass on to their customers the CONGRESSIONALLY MANDATED increased cost of doing business because of CONGRESSIONALLY MANDATED cap and trade taxes and CONGRESSIONALLY MANDATED employer provided health care.

Keep telling yourselves that Obama and the democrats are good for all Americans and while you are at it, HOPE that they leave you with some CHANGE in your pocket.

I think there is some mis-reporting, or mis-remembering. In order for the prosecutor to ask for 50 years, then this has to be an AGGRAVATED sexual assault of a child, meaning the child was under 13 years of age or was threatened or harmed. Most likely, the child was 13 or under.

That's a different offense from sexual assault of a child, where the punishment range is 2 to 20 and where the victim is 14 or over.

So he's even sleezier than I thought. If it's a child not yet to puberty, he's a pedophile. If the child has hit puberty, he's a child molester.

I agree with the posters who favor forehead marking. MOLESTER in big letters would be nice. They could give him the tattoo after they cut his offending member off and before they hang him.

This would of course be before the Democrats took office in 2007.

Published: Friday July 28, 2006

With House Republicans ready to push forward with a bill that will increase the minimum wage for the first time in a decade, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi took to the floor to blast the measure, calling it a “political sham.”

“Mr. Speaker, the bill before us this evening is an insult to the intelligence of the American people,” Pelosi said. “It is also an insult to the nearly 7 million Americans who depend on an increase in the minimum wage to live from paycheck to paycheck.”

“It is a political stunt,” Pelosi added. “It isn’t a sincere effort to give an increase in the minimum wage.”
Pelosi blasted Republicans for previously “boasting” that they’ve helped stall legislation to raise minimum wage for nine years.

“Republicans boast that they have held out for nine years, keeping the minimum wage at $5.15 an hour,” Pelosi continued. “That’s their proud boast. Don’t take it from me; it’s in the public record.”

As of July 24, 2008, the Federal Minimum Wage is $6.55 per hour, and is scheduled to be increased to $7.25 on July 24, 2009. Individual states may differ. So you are incorrect at this time to say that minimum wage is $7.25. Please wait 2 weeks.

Yes everything has increased in price. I noticed it when I was paying around $4.00 a gallon for gasoline. It was NOT Congress regulating the price set for gas, it was the Oil companies, like Exxon. You remember the record profits they kept bragging about don't you. I do not think they were worried about our small increase in pay when they hiked up the price. And I am sure you paid back your employer any and all money that you received that was over minimum wage that was set in 2006, as a demonstration to the "Democrats" that you would not take that tainted money. I work for a small company and we do not have "CONGRESSIONALLY MANDATED employer provided health care." We pay for it through another company and it is not through the government.

Here is the link to your Source and note Pelosi and the democrats were unhappy with the republican bill because according to the democrats it wasn't enough of an increase and provided cuts for people who already pay more than 30% of their income in taxes. The democrats voted against the bill and it did not pass. You do realize, the more an employer pays an employee the more they have to pay in taxes like workers comp and such, right. Ohhhh, right! YOU have NEVER provided long term, legal employment for Americans so you have NO idea what is entailed in being an employer.

As for blaming big "Big Oil" for the cost of fuel, perhaps, you really should get your information somewhere other than the Daily Kos.

Before you get your skirt in a twist you really should consider these FACTS.

Exxon Mobil pays as much in taxes ($27 billion) annually as the entire bottom 50% of individual taxpayers, which is 65,000,000 people! Further, the tax rate for the bottom 50% is only 3% of adjusted gross income ($27.4 billion / $922 billion), and the tax rate for Exxon was 41% in 2006 ($67.4 billion in taxable income, $27.9 billion in taxes).

Source

For 2008 the tax rate paid by Exxon Mobile will be 46%.

Source

20,000,000 (20 million) American workers own stock in Exxon Mobile. Most stock is held by mutual funds and 401K plans. Only 1% of Exxon Mobile stock is held by rich people.

Whoever we have in the White House is not in there for us, and never will be. They all have an agenda, and the common man just needs to get on with life and do the best we can on a day to day basis. I never even think about the presidency until I see all these stupid, time-wasting posts. Geesh...Bush, Obama, it just doesn't matter!

And why isn't anyone commenting on this kid who is so venomous and hate-filled? I'd be concerned about a daughter who damned someone to hell. Kid needs severe counseling and maybe a bit of CHURCH or Christian forgiveness training??? And the sad thing is her parents are probably right there supporting her hatred and bitterness instead of helping her move on...forgiveness helps the VICTIM; bitterness destroys them.

You might want to go back and read those scriptures about judging others...

Anonymous said...

9:08 - Clearly you have never been a victim or a family member of a victim of such a crime. Only when you have walked in 'their' shoes are you able to have such an opinion. You don't have a clue of what it feels like to have an adult that you trusted to betray you in such a manner. How do you expect her to forgive him when he did not ask for forgiveness. Shame on you!

Anonymous said...

I understand her comment to him completely! Thank God she had the opportunity to tell him in public so that everyone could SEE/FEEL her reaction. After a child is molested, they are never the same. Especially when they tell and the courts turn their cheek or offer some kind of itty bitty plea bargain that allows their molester right back on the streets again. I wish everyone could have heard her say what she did to him, and I wish it would have an effect on all court systems......to understand that letting these type criminals go IS THE CRIME! Yea to Wise County for putting this man behind bars! Maybe other pedaphiles will take notice that Wise County is now serious about protecting its children!! Can't say that was always the case.

Anonymous said...

As the mother of a young girl I do not believe 15 years is even long enough. They should put him away and lock the key. He's gonna get some idea of what he put that little girl through.

I do not blame her for not being able to forgive him yet. That comes with healing. Im sure now maybe she can start that process. It would take a Christian to be able to do it. Im a Christian but I dont know how I could do it if it were my child.

Anonymous said...

Did anyone stop to consider that now that this poor child has been through the trial and she knows he won't be able to hurt her again, that NOW the healing can take place for her. She is very justified in her anger and for now maybe it is the only way she can cope. Give her a chance to grow and mature. The healing and maybe forgivness will come. Don't expect too much from her too soon. She needs to heal.

The aunt being a RN in our own community. God please help our children that she comes incontact with that need helping because her own interest will come first. To the one who made a comment at 1:23. You are sooooo right. That child was back in Canada for awhile before it was reported.
I have a question to all moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles and anyone who cares about children. If a child you love tells you about being abused, would you take them to a child's birthday party, (nephew to the accused, no kin of yours) the very next week?? The accused, the aunt, the mom and the child were in attendance at a party such as this within a week of the outcry. Another weird fact, I saw on video the mom laughing with the accused. I am still trying to figure out how she could look at him with a laughing, fun smile on her face. That video made me as sick as the accusations!! WHO IS PROTECTING THIS CHILD??
