Seriously, each of us can help our own power consumption if you want to. If you have east and west facing windows you need to shut these solar heaters down this time of the year. Block the heat/light before it gets in. All those fancy windows are pretty much a scam. What good is raising the R value from 1 to 2 or even to 3? That is little help. Cheap solar screens that prevent the light impacting the glass are your best investment. Here is a little elementary school science project: Hang a thermometer inside your house in front of a east or west window while the sun is striking it near perpendicular, and take a reading. The room temperature away from the window may be 75 degrees but in proximity to the solar heater (window) you will see high readings. Now block the light on the outside of the window to prevent penetration and watch the inside temperature drop.
Some people install the mirrored films to reflect the sun. This is good in the summer but in the winter you will miss a lot of free solar heat.

* The house a/c is set at 70 in the summer when someone is in the house. When we are gone for more than 3 hours the temp is set at 78 and scheduled to go back to 70 within 30 minutes of arrival at the house. The house temp stays a constant 60 degrees in the winter.
Why is it "odd" that the victim can only give their impact statement after the sentencing? Seems like that's sensible since most victim's statements are hate-filled and aimed at wringing sympathy out of everyone present? If we gave the vics a chance to spew out their venom prior to sentencing, wouldn't that potentially influence the sentence? I find the impact statements stupid and ridiculous, but if they help the person to heal, I guess it's worth the emotional blathering. I would be extremely ashamed and disappointed at a daughter who damned someone to hell, and would think she needed some major counseling and possibly a bit of Christian teaching!

This summer, I decided to be as energy efficient as possible, since we have a big house. I put power strips in everywhere possible, so I could totally turn off TVs, DVDs, satellite stuff, computer stuff, and totally turned off the AC in the big part of the house when we weren't in there.
Got the electric bill for month before last and it was $62...I was thrilled......the previous year, it was over $200 for the same time period.........then my son who lives on the place told me he saw a Wise County truck out at the power pole and they were checking the meter......seems according to their records, we had a suspicious drop in power usage, so they changed the meter......my hubby called them, told them what we had been doing to save energy, and got a different story than the one my son got from the lineman.......got this month's electric bill and it was almost $200 again.......go figure.
We are the last Wise County Coop customer on the line in Montague County, our well across the road is on Cooke County Coop........our house power sucks. We get surges and brownouts all the time, and I have expensive battery backups on all the computers and important electronics to protect them. Our neighbors up the road on Cooke County are doing fine when we are sitting here without power......I wish we had Cooke County Coop power at the house.
I wonder if York's sentence will be much worse than the sexual assault sentence...
