Crystal Wells, 33, has pled guilty to the very strange charge of "Unlawful Transaction With A Minor" which apparantly means "Sex With a 15 Year Old Boy" in Kentucky. She'll be sentenced later but the prosecutor is recommending five years in the hoosegow.I can't pass judgment on this young lady because the picture is so blurry. Sheesh. We can allocate all these judicial resources to this prosecution but we can't get a picture that doesn't look like it was taken in a sauna? I'm leaning towards a short probation, but the prosecutor better get me a better picture quick or I'll let her out with time served.

She gets a 5 year sentence for multiple sexual encounters with a 15 year old boy. Maybe that's appropriate but I suggest if this was a male teacher, he'd get a hard time life sentence. If it was a black male teacher, they'd want a rope right now. Equal justice? What would happen in Decatur?

I guess I'm too old for this but 15 year old boys haven't turned me on since I was about 13. I just don't get it.

OMG, 2:58...get a life! There are many people like me that are outraged when it comes to injustice and here's a shocker for ya....many of us live in Decatur!
I read this blog everyday and I hate these post. Not that I don't want to know about them, I just hate how everyone is so casual about it. Why is everyone so tired of hearing it that they are not outraged by the news of yet another teacher sleeping with a child in their care? Yes we are hearing about a new one everyday but this is one thing I can not accept as normal or ok. I am all for change and accepting the things young people like to do like long haired boys and bald girls, baggy pants, ear rings, and sex before marriage but this ? How can we let this become normal to us? How can we let our teachers think this is ok? These women are educated adults. They know better and should have more self control. I am tired of hearing how in love they are. IF they are really that much in love then they will still be that much in love when the student turns 18 and graduates. Why cant they wait? If a man teacher did this the public would have his life for it why is a woman any different? These teachers are no different than any other child sexual predator and they should be punished as such. (No matter how hot they are, Barry)
My fear is that these teachers are going to be socially acceptable in a few years.
God needs to wake up and redesign the human body to better fit our modern society.

It seems like there is more activity on the board Monday-Friday from 8-5 than any other time. I wonder if that is because people are goofing off at work. I teach and the blog is blocked at school.

Will she have to register as a sex offender? If it was a male teacher and a 15 yr old girl, he would have to register as a sex offender.
Let me make myself clear...I am a teacher and it will NEVER be acceptable for this to happen. I think it is bizarre for any woman or man to fixate in such a way on a teenager. And it is WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. I don't think it is funny at all. These people like this gal really piss me off because they make a mockery of a profession I am serious about.
"Why is a woman any different?" There's no easy answer for this and I think Barry is just doing the best he can and trying to work within natures clearly defined boundaries.
How about putting the blame on the under eighteen students. I bet those horny boys sit at their lunch tables and place bets to see who will be the first to score a hot teacher. And then once they do, they of course have to tell all their buddies about it. If those damn kids would just keep their mouths shut and not tell anyone, no one would ever find out about any of those so called "sex crimes"
11:00 I am with you on that! I also teach. I have not been interested in a teenager since I was a teenager. What is wrong with a grown woman that wants to seduce a teen? Well, I'll tell you. She needs some sort of a mental evaluation. Now I love teaching and love to help my students be all they can be but when that bell rings I am ready for those little darlings to go home. I figure most normal teachers share this feeling. I can't imagine teachers who want more than that with their students. My mind can't even go there because I am a mature woman and I have morals. It makes me wonder what society is coming to.
